I love Jimi Hendrix, and Hey Joe is one of my all time favourite songs...but every once in a while it gives me chills...Jimi never seems to comment on the idea of shooting your wife as being a bad thing. I just thought, hey, what would this song sound like turned around? Could it be as popular? Or just hateful?

I can't hate anything Johnny Cash sings. He's just too awesome for words.

But I can actually think of quite a few woman-killing songs, and not many good man-killing songs (the Dixie Chicks one is the only one that springs to mind)...

Yeah, mostly it's just songs about how much we suck (You're no good, you're no good, baby you're no goooood) or that it's time for us to leave (Hit the road, Jack sung by a dude no less). Perhaps how you're better off with out us (I will survive), but killing us not so much. I think if you listen to enough country you might be able to find songs about lighting our trucks on fire.

Wow, I was hoping I'd have something worthwhile to contribute by the end of this, but instead I just (I think) paraphrased some stand ups routine. Pathetic. ah well, they can't all be gems...

We mostly have, "I'm leaving you", "get the hell out of my house", "suck on this", and "dammit, I'll grin and bear it" songs. I think we should stop being so damn nice! :p

I'm listening to Jimi right now! But Hey Joe is not one of his original songs, it's a cover of a Billy Roberts song. Why does he cover it? Probably so he can have fun with the solo! :)
