Milk first and then tea. It tastes better, in my opinion. And loose tea, not bags.

Have to agree with Vetalia, milk then tea, and loose tea is so much better.

Butter???

Well, I guess if you added a little salt as well, you would have Tibetan tea, right?

I tried that, but a cup of hot soda in the morning just isn't the same.

Either no milk, or heat the milk and use it to make tea directly, depending on mood and what kind of tea it is.

Unless it's Earl Grey. Then it's tea first, then Bacardi 151.

I always thought Captain Picard looked kinda smashed on the bridge.

No milk. Why ruin good tea? No milk in coffee either.

I always thought Captain Picard looked kinda smashed on the bridge.True, though in his case methinks it was tea first, then Romulan ale.

No milk in coffee either.Yeah, coffee's another beast altogether. There it's coffee first, then molasses.

I like watching the milk when its poured into the tea. Kind of like watching the cream being mixed with coffee (even though I don't like coffee).

So tea, then milk.

Traditionally, in the UK at least, the tea is made in a teapot. Milk goes in the cup first, then the tea is poured afterwards.

The reason for this goes back to the days beore modern ceramic cups. Pouring boiling hot tea into an earthenware or basic clay cup would often cause the cup to break in the same way untreated glass will break. Since only the wealthy could afford the expensive chinese pocelain that could withstand this treatment the lower classes came up with the convention of putting the milk in first so as to cool the tea as it is poured to avoid damageing the cup or mug it was poured into.

However there is a definate school of thought that says the milk should be added afterwards to ensure the correct balance against the strenght of the tea, which you can only determine after it has been poured. Contrarywise, others claim that adding the milk last causes it to curdle slightly as it comes into contact with the hot tea and this produces an inferior taste. This is in line with classic cookery where you always add hot ingrediants to cold, not vice versa.

We Brits tend to get rather het up about this sort of thing. It's something that rather baffles our European cousins, who frequently eschew milk althogether.

And finally, I always put the milk in first.

I put in Milk first, then I add Hot Chocolate, then I give the tea to someone who likes it.

No milk. Sugar, plenty of sugar. In fact, I have tea with my sugar. It gives the sugar a nice flavor other than sweet :D

No milk. I drink predominantly green tea, though.
