Why does the weather always have to suck?

I can't even leave the house during daylight hours without sweating up a storm. It's disgusting, I'm now taking two showers a day, one because the sun comes into my room in the morning and my roommate keeps increasing the temp for the a/c and I end up all gross before work and one when I get home from work after walking in that heat.

Southern Ontario has the worst weather ever. It's either too hot or too cold.

Uh, no. Southern California has it worst.

Our season goes like this:

- Rainy (about a month or two)
- Muddy
- Windy
- Dry
- Summer
- Fall
- repeat

Winter? Yeah that's called muddy season in California.
Spring? Yeah that's called windy season in California.

'Cause you don't live in Northern California. You really should. Except that it's not Canada. Other than that, it's killer. 30 degree (F) variation from winter to summer, and it's the sweet 30.

Just doing my weekly duty of stirring up trouble between Northern and Southern California...

It is a bit hot in Blighty at the moment too. The worse thing is that I graduate this week so I'm going to be bloody boiling in my black suit, black gown and morter

You mean you don't normally shower twice a day? What kind of a pig are you?

Anyway, you Canadians complain too much about the weather. If it's not too sunny, it's windy, or raining, or snows. It seems to me that you don't have anything worthwhile to complain about and pick on the weather instead.

When you've spent 8 months above 38C going down to just a shade under 30C at night, then you can complain about the heat.

You might get your revenge if the "December Plan" has to go into effect. I'm going to finish the documentary I'm working on now and if the producer still isn't able to pay me and I still haven't found production work and I still haven't sold a script for more than a dollar then in December I move where the work is, the worst of SoCal (well, not Fresno or Bakersfield, but still) LA. Ugh. Then you will have the last laugh.

Until then, gloat gloat gloat :)

So I'll sit here and laugh all December long then. Well done.

Yeah, we have all of those too, except for us, they go day by day, not season by season. You never know what tomorrow could bring in New England. It could be 105 degrees and 95% humidity, or it could be 45 degrees and raining.

Southeast Texas weather could definitely compete with anywhere. It's hot and humid...in December. Oh, and don't forget hurricane season!

You gotta factor in the humidex. That can make a 30 C thermostat reading translate to anywhere from 42 to 45 C.

Sorry, I don't know the Faherenheit equivalencies. It's ruinously hot, hot, hot though. By the end of the day, my fresh-pressed clothing had stiffened from all the body salts I'd sweated out.

It really feels like one of the towns in Mass is emptying into Santa Cruz. A friend of mine is almost running an underground railroad for people from Athol, Mass. My understanding is that it is a small ass town so I don't know how many people are left in it. Weather and 'vegitation' seem to be the primary reasons...

Oh my God!!! At least be thankful you're not in Arizona. We've already broken a few record highs here in Tucson. It's around 110 F (43 C), with a 0% chance of rain. They said it would rain Sunday, but all we got was a new record high! Bastards! :D

Tips for dealing with heat, from experience:
1) Between 12 noon and about 4PM, go naked.
2) Walk outside (naked optional) for about 2 min, then go inside--you will feel surprisingly refreshed though it's still around 80 F inside :D .
3) Shade/tint over windows helps a lot.
4) Dream that it's winter and it's snowing and you're building a snowman. If that doesn't work:
5) Buy 20 dozen bags of ice, dump it all in the yard. Save three bags and put it in a blender so you can make a snowman! For longer results, put SPF 45 sunscreen on the ice/snowman.

What? You think we don't have humidity in Mexico? Ok, make that "spend eight months above 38C, plus whatever the frigging 85%+ humidity will make it feel like... and then you can complain about the heat."

Sorry, I don't know the Faherenheit equivalencies. It's ruinously hot, hot, hot though.
Don't worry, everyone understands Celsius nowadays.

My block has more people than Athol. Athol is out in Worcester County where I'm originally from.

Now I have to fight the urge to go, "Do you know Dave*?" Although that worked once-found out someone lived in San Luis, asked if he knew a giant named Ted-turned out Ted was his roommate.

*Dave picked at random and not an actual person from Athol, though now that I think about it I do know a Dave that went to Boston to study bass...

Well I'm not from Athol. I'm not even sure where in Worcester County Athol is. I'm just from another town in Worcester County.

Being a Californian with limited travel (and all within California) I tend to think of East Coast states as 'county sized.' Not so much an accurate way to look at the East Coast as it is a way to look at the massive geography errors I'll make when making assumptions about that area...

Now it's 60° and clear. Crazy weather, we are having. :)

That's fine. The idea of unincorporated areas is totally incomprehensible to me.
