Meh. It seems to do what Google Maps (http://maps.google.com/) already does. I don't see the point.

Kanabia got me to download this about a week ago. Good stuff... Way better than Google Maps, because it has closer zoom levels, and it's not just the United States.

Thank you- this is brilliant on so many levels.

It is disconcerting when the satellite image changes colour half way across a screen though. Anad the image quality is better in some places than others, obviously. Still, very useful. It plotted the correct route from my house to London!

I've just spent about an hour just gazing at it. It's beautiful.

Wierdly, half of Turin (Torino) is hi-res and the other lo-res. And London has no 3D buildings. I wanted to see Canary Wharf..

New York is fun with the 3D..

Hey Dragon's Bay, maybe you can help me here -
What the heck is Jiulong? It's right in the middle of Mong Kok. I've never heard of the place. Also is Xianggangdao the name of the hill in HK?
I notice they spelt Sha Tin wrong as well. They spelt it Shatian. Which no doubt means something else entirely.
Still damn cool though. Very impressive.

Direction function isn't too hot. I just tried to get it to tell me how to get from Ahipara to Kaitaia and it returned no results. Now the thing is, those two places are in New Zealand (far north in case you're interested. My parents live in Kaitaia), 14km apart and displayed on the map as bright red buttons.
Now, come on. If it can't tell me how to travel 14km between two named places it's pretty hopeless. I think a lot more work is needed on this thing.

I haven't seen it but its neverb etter than Worldwind.

Try searching for that, downloading it.

the program is a 3d sphere of the earth and when you zoom in the program will download satellite photo's of the earth and palce it there, they are very detailed. You can make out Bridges and certain buidling. That close you can get. its great.

Outside the US (and parts of Canada and Europe) everything is Cuautitlan.
