Everything is our fucking fault because we're America.

I'll leave that and see how this thread goes once I come back from school.

Maybe someone will prove me wrong.
Maybe this thread will turn into a flamefest.
Maybe everyone will just ignore this thread. Hopefully that, considering I get a bad rush of emotions.

If everything is your fault, it's because your standards of right and wrong are self-obsessive. The American mindset is that you are either responsible for everything or the cure to everything and that somehow your influence is a sole factor for either good or evil; nobody else matters.

Not that I think everything is your fault in the slightest, but a little perspective outside the self every now and then never hurt anyone.

I think that people are starting, through various media, to be more able to see injusticies that are being perpetrated nowadays, and are more able to link them back to other sources of injustice prior, that happened to come from the country/countries in question.
To say that everything from the dawn of time is infeasible, nay, impossible. But for America to start to see where it's been brainwashed and be able to turn various facets around would be quite something.
Especially in the near-fascistic political climate you have now.

Don't get me wrong: other countries have their faults, too. And there should be some soul-searching. I mean, look at Zimbabwe at present. Look at Sudan.
Look at the history of Australia and how they treated their Aborigines.
If you really wanted to go back far enough, you could probably even blame some long-gone society.

But America's faults have been made larger by:
- The fact that they're going on NOW! Also, links to those present faults
in past made more prominent by greater ability to research them.

- Choice of a complete FUCKWIT for President! Expanding upon that, choice
BETWEEN complete FUCKWIT for President (along with his corrupt as
MUGGERY puppetmasters) and, as opposition, a VERITABLE PUPPET PARTY
with - and let's be real, here - non-attempt at opposition.

- complete Fuckwit social and diplomatic policies (and choices of people
representing each e.g. John Bolton for UN rep. I mean COME ON!)
and arrogant stance therefore.
And, as a result of these policies, a domino effect of other disasters
e.g. rise in terrorism as a result in attacking both Afghanistan and Iraq.
Afghanistan had it coming, sure, but Iraq had no link to Al-Qaeda.

So, to say that EVERYTHING is America's fault, well, no. But should you
step back and take a look at yourselves, ABSOLUTELY. And this applies
to every country, I think.

Well, considering a standard of living that uses resources in a ratio far greater than its population combined with a fanatical obsession with not just sustaining that level of consumption but forever increasing it -- and demanding that it's our "God-given right" to do so (which drives our foreign policy) -- well, it surely isn't all our fault, but I'd wager we bear the majority of the blame.

It's true! Let's list a few things.

1 If the US hadn't gotten involved in WWII the Soviet Union would have suffered losses so great that it would have collapsed. The US caused Soviet communism!

2 If the US hadn't invented nuclear weapons nobody else would have. That's because all other nations are pure sweetness and light and have no use for weapons except to protect themselves from the depredations of the bloodthirsty Americans.

3 Everyone knows that that Americans are too dumb and fat and lazy to actually earn their wealth, so it's rather obvious that we've accumulated our economic power through sneaky and underhanded means which no other nation would lower themselves to using. We've somehow built an invisible empire of nations who are so brainwashed by our cultural imperialism that they don't even know that they're collonies.

4 It's been rumored that the Tsunami that hit parts of Indonesia and India was caused by experimental US seizmic weapons. Clearly it's a plot by the USA to make themselves look good by providing aid to the people of that region. First we cause the Tsunami, then we come in like heros and provide aid. Don't be fooled.

not entirely true.

"Beginning in 1940, before Pearl Harbor, scientific knowledge useful in was pooled between the United States and Great Britain, and many priceless helps to our victories have come from that arrangement. Under that general policy the research on the atomic bomb was begun. With American and British scientists working together we entered the race of discovery against the Germans."
