That;s right! You heard it here first. Apparently Homeland Security has decided I'm not a terror threat, their mistake. Speaking of mistakes I'm going to Tex-ass first. Mainly because it's cheaper flying to Texas and then getting a connection to comewhere good.

Anyone have any ideas? On the advice of US friend I've struck Utah off.

As long as you are in the Lone Star State, I suggest you visit San Antonio. The Alamo, river walk, great food.

I would tell you to swing through my hometown, but Phoenix in July is the geographical equivalent of a vast, empty, and overcharged blast furnace. Oh, and it's a boring cultural wasteland.

My advice: once you're out of Texas, avoid the South in general, except maybe for major cities. It's hot, humid, and generally unpleasant, especially this time of year.

By the way, where are you flying through in Texas? If it's Bush International in Houston (disgusting, isn't it?), be sure to get some entertaining pictures of yourself near or on the big statue of George Senior in Terminal C. I know I did when I flew through there.

come visit the rich yuppies of Connecticut. From where I live (central CT) you can easily drive to New York City, Boston, and Providence, plus enjoy the beauty that is...

ah fuck it. Who am I kidding. Just skip New Jersey and you'll be fine.

Dude, SA sucks. Alamo's very much overrated, and the river walks best at night. Food's good, but the same can be found elsewhere.

The only place in Texas worth visiting is Austin. Write off the rest of the state, and pretend it doesn't exist.

Colorado's a nice, pretty state. California's a good place, too.

Sorry, I'm back now. Apparently, they invented time travel in the year 2035. That was "me" from the future. He must've been confused... Sorry, he was describing American in the future. Some guys with ray guns, wearing red, white, and blue spandex showed up and took him away.

It's okay now. From what I've heard (and experienced), the American people are generally assholes compared to the rest of the world. In southern and rural areas, they have that kind of extremely warm hospitality that foreign countries have, but they're also racist, sexist, and homophobic as hell.

I dunno. It depends on what you're used to and what you want. The country is nice, because it's quiet and the people are friendly. People in the city are cold, insensitive assholes, but they have tons of shops, museums, and things to see. If I were you, I'd go to New York City or California. Washington D.C. isn't that great. I live nearby, and it's as dirty and crowded as London, except worse because there are homeless people everywhere. Foreigners came here, see the bums, and say, "WTF!! THIS IS AMERICA?! THEY'RE SO FUCKING POOR!"

Asian tourists are also notorious for taking pictures of ridiculously silly things and practically everything they see. For example, they find it amusing to see a McDonald's with "McDonald's" in English, so they take picture. Not even kidding. I quite literally saw it happen once.

Actually if you want to go to a really cool little town I'd suggest visiting Chattanooga, Tennessee. I was born there but its one of the best cities I've ever been to. They've made a tremendous evironmental turnaround from when the steel mills and foundries made the air so dirty that you had to change a white shirt half way through the day because the smog soiled it. But in the 70's or 80's they started a massive evironmental cleanup initiative that made the city into one of the cleanest in the nation. If you decide to go be sure to visit the Aquarium (the largest freshwater Aquarium in the south), the Chattanooga Choo Choo, and the Civil War battlefields nearby. And theres free public transportation downtown (electric shuttle).

Yes, I do. I have relatives in upstate New York, a very rural area. And I live in Maryland. Maryland isn't exactly a northern or a western state, but a border state. Northern Maryland borders Pennsylvania and New York, so it's "northern." Southern Maryland borders Virginia and West Virginia, so it's "southern."

And as you go further south in Maryland, there's even more hicks. It's worse in West Virginia than Virginia, though. There's one town in southern Maryland called Frederick and it has the nickname "Fredneck." There's also the KKK in Southern Maryland and Virginia, but not in the north. It's too close to D.C. where so many blacks are.

I wish Southerners would stop giving THEMSELVES a bad rep, and then lying about it.

Uh... the KKK is everywhere... not just the South. and besides most people down here see them as a really bad joke. Its too bad some people will stay closed minded and listen to stereotypes that have no basis in reality but I guess people will stay ignorant... But I will concede that parts of the South are.... worse than others to say the least. Alabama and Mississippi to name a few. But to be fair I have family in Alabama... too bad most of that state is like a third world shithole.

No, they should avoid the Bible belt and anything below it. Because it holds up the Bible pants, which hide the Bible "naughty parts", which no decent human being ought to see.

And, finally, being where the Bible belt is and how Mexicans constantly intrude, this makes Texas the asshole of America (with Mexico being the phallus that repeatedly sodomizes it). And it's where that "little shit" President Bush came from and also where they execute significantly more criminals than any other state. So, it should be avoided at all costs.

As the saying goes, "Steers and queers." (Sorry to offend any cows reading this. It's not intended.)

Um, from the feedback I'm getting it's seeming less like the Homeland Secuirty interrogation was worth it. Oddly enough, for a liberal it concerns me somewhat that a foreign intelligence organization has my fingerprints...

But enough of that, I'm definately visiting New York and I was told that Alabama is worth visiting for a laugh.

Ignore all of Texas except for one zip code in Austin. From there, move promptly west until you find California, Washington, and Oregon. Smoke pot from California up through Oregon, and then spend the rest of your trip in Portland. It's the highlight of the Northwest, thus the highlight of America.

If your going to Texas first I would suggest San Antonio. There are alot of cool things to do there. Alamo, River walk, also if its still there the bottom of the Hilton is a place called Dirty Nellies. I would suggest driving west all the way to California. Some places to stop on the way Santa Fe, New Mexico, Grand Canyon Arizona, Las Vegas, Nevada. Onto California to San Diego, Los Angeles of course. Drive up the coast to San Francisco. Go to Napa Valley North of San Francisco while your there. Then maybe Yosemite National park in the east of the state. Then you can make your way to Carson City, Nevada for a wild west town. Pass through Lake Tahoe for scenery on the way to Nevada. Then onto Southren Utah. Moab is an awesome area. Mt Biking and just general climbing around. From there take your pick.

Utah's beautiful. Don't let the threat of Mormons scare you off; they are nice enough if you don't let them talk to you.

I'm from New Mexico which is really pretty. Avoid the mid-west, it's boring. California is the best as far as touring the country without a car goes...

Ah dude, ditch Texas, practically nothing there... If you surf and dig the beaches, head to California, but stick to Southern California along the coast, that's all that is good in Cali... If your looking for the hospitality, stay to the South, 'cause up North (anything above the Potomac river) you gotta deal with a bunch of... well, people like Crusader Knight...

If your looking for the Scenic tour, check out the Appalachian Trail from Virginia down to North Carolina, I hiked the whole damn trail, and trust me, the best of it is in Virginia and North Carolina, its got the waterfalls, the green trees and fields, and the Smoky Mountains and Blue Ridge Mountains. Plus, it's usually cooler in the mountains than in the Peidmont.
Also, check out the Rocky Mountains, those are the prettiest mountains in the Americas.

If your looking for the Sight Seeing tour, check out DC especially, you have the White House, the Smithsonian Museums, plus the Zoo if your into that, they got a kick ass Reptile section.
While at DC, head North to Baltimore, Maryland to check out the Baltimore Aquarium. Awesome stuff.
For some pretty cities, check out Georgia's Savannah and Atlanta, two of the greatest cities in the country. Savannah's got a lot of cool history to it, and at nights, you get to go on this cool ghost tour of the city to check out the old ghost tales and 'haunted' houses.
Atlanta is just simply awesome, a lot friendlier than New York City, and it's got the Coke Museum, that place kicked ass.
I'd also recommend Salem, Mass. That is a really pretty town, with some cool history to it, and it's got the Salem Beerworks! Plymoth, Mass. is good too.

If your into the US history stuff, check out Fredricksburg, Virginia, great town with a whole lot of Civil War history, battlefields everywhere. Same with Southern Stafford (Falmouth) Virginia.

That's it for me though. Luck with your trip.
