TV Questions

I'm an avid TV watcher. Whether it's an action show, a comedy, Science-Fiction, or anything else that isn't a soap opera, a reality show, or a ridiculous teen drama that makes me both laugh and cry at how completely ridiculous Holywoods idea of teenage life is like. But, even though I know the most minute details of almost every show that I regularly view, there are still some questions whose answers I seek. With some shows it's because I didn't start watching till late in the series, some shows I missed one critical episode, other shows I just missed some subtle event. Whatever the cause, some questions bug me to no end. So, I ask you.

Question 1) What the bloody hell happened to Sharona Fleming in Monk?
ANSWERED

I'm watching the show, Sharona is there as usual, then bang!, in one episode she's gone and Natalie Teeger is now Monks assistant. I'm like "What?" and spend quite a while in the midst of vast confusion. Now, a few days ago I saw the episode where Monk hired Natalie so I know how that happened, but I still have no idea what made Sharona leave. Did something happen to her? Did something happen to her son? Did she get a better job?

Question 2) When did Gunn and Fred break-up in Angel?

I know what caused the break-up and I perfectly understand it, but when did it happen? I saw many episodes when they were having severe relationship problems and a seperation was imminent, and I saw many episodes where they'd already broken up and were working on healing their emotional wounds, but I have no recollection of seeing the actual break-up. When did it happen?

Question 3) What the f--- is SG1 doing with a time machine?
ANSWERED

In a Stargate: SG1 episode I saw several days ago, the SGC is in posession of an Atlantean manufactured time machine which they use to go back in time to Ancient Egypt so they can steal a ZPM from Ra. But when the hell did they get it, and how? It's obviously Atlantean, and thus it probably has something to do with the Stargate: Atlantis team, but when (and how) did the team manage to get a ship from Atlantis (In the Pegasus galaxy) all the way back to Earth?

I should say here that, due to me not having cable at college, I have missed a considerable portion of last seasons SG1 and Atlantis episodes.

Well, those are all the questions I can think of right now, but I'll probably have more later. Until then, any help would be greatly appreciated.

You obviously missed the SG atlantis episode, the one where they find a really old version of doctor whatever, teh lady in charge, living on atlantis. See, the FIRST time they got there, the thing was all screwed up, the city was about to go down, so everyoen runs for the docknig bay and shepard finds a time machine jumper which jumped them back to when teh atlanteans were alive, all that survived was dr weir and she talked ot the atlanteans, they were escaping back to earth from the pegasus galaxy because of the wraith, and they told the crazy inventor to get rid of the time machine thing and him and weir set up everythin so it wouldnt kill the SGA team when they got to atlantis, apparently, he took the time machine jumper back to earth and buried it, actually im' not sure how the hell they got a JUMPER there, i'm positive he took the TIME distorter thing back with him, but no idea where they got a jumper, I can assume they made one, but that doesn't explains why they only found one. You know, I forget how a JUMPER got there, you'd have to watch reruns to figure it out, lemme think. they found the jumper on some other world i think actually, and went back in time, then went to earth, I havn't seen the episode since they last aired it, you would have to watch the last episode of stargate sg1 to figure out how they got it and how it got there

Sharona moved back with her ex-husband in another state. It's explained earlier in the episode when Monk hires Natalie.

You mean Dr. Elizabeth Weir? The episode where they find a 10,00 year old version of her? I saw that episode, it was on a few days ago. But, as I said, it still doesn't how the SGC has a Time-machine equipped Puddle Jumper.

EDIT: Ah, thanks Nevartha.

You're very welcome.

I don't generally keep up with behind the scenes stuff in the shows I watch, but considering how abruptly Sharona left to move back with her husband, and considering how they didn't actually show her in that episode, I suspect that the actress suddenly left the show or something like that. Which would perhaps explain the long break in the middle of the season to get the new character and actress.

Personally, I think I like Natalie better than Sharona. The chemistry is more interesting, deeper. And I love the really subtle romance angle. It's a good change.

I'm not, I tend to think TV is a waste of time, therefore I have no idea what the answers to any of your questions may be :D

Nerd time.

Alright, what happened was that SG-1 went to go retrieve..Maybourne, I believe it was, from some planet the Tok'ra dumped him on. The Goa'uld had previously left the planet and their former slaves centuries before (but decided to come back, because of Baal's kicking everyone's asses, and needed a place to hide). 'Round that time, some Ancients apparently went time hopping to observe events on this world (no idea why) and wrote them down on some pillars, in what became a temple, and eventually became ruins. Maybourne found this out, and SG-1 went out looking for it. They found it, and wound up using it.

SG1 goes to the planet where they left General Maybourne because a System Lord(I think Aries) is planning to take over again.

Maybourne made himself king using knowledge written by the Ancients on large stone blocks about the future. They find the abandoned puddle jumper equipped with the time machine hidden on the planet.

I can't wait until the new season starts this Friday.

EDIT:Someone beat me to it.

Sometime after Fred returned to our dimension (they went to Lorn's dimension to rescue Cordy who'd been sucked in while trying to find Fred cause she had a vision) with the rest of the gang Fred found out that her old Physics teacher was the one who opened the portal that sucked her there origionally because she stood to outshine him. Apparently it was a hobby of his so she asks Gunn to help, he refuses saying that it will change her. Fred asks Wesley on the sly, so Fred goes in to try and kill him with the aid of Wesley, opens his portal to give him a taste of his own medicine but Gunn bursts in and in order to stop Fred from feeling guilty about sending him through the portal later he kills the teacher and then throws him through the portal.

Any questions?

Yes, the same question I originally asked.

As I said, I'm more than familiar with what caused the break-up. I know exactly what happened. What I don't know is when, it was several episodes after Gunn killed Freds exiler and tossed his corpse into the portal to Pylea. They hung on after the murder and didn't split up for several days/weeks.

Lord-General Drache, Barlibgil, thanks. That's two of my questions answered.

Oh, and FYI, Maybourne was only a Colonel.

So, does anybody else watch Angel? Surely somebody can tell me the name of the episode where Gun and Fred break-up, or at least what else happens in that ep.

SG1 is one of those programmes they fucked up by dragging it out way too long after it should have ended. I was confused when the guy with the glasses came back.

I find television very educational. Every time someone switches it on I go into another room and read a good book.*

You mean Daniel Jackson? It made perfect sense to me. OOC'ly, the actor just wanted a break from the show. IC'ly, he Ascended to a higher plane of existence (Star Wars, Star Trek, and other Sci-Fi series have the same occurance). Then, OOC'ly he wanted to come back to the show and IC'ly he couldn't abide by the non-interference rules that the Ascended followed and was banished back to normal existence.

Come on guys, this is killing me. When the hell did Gunn and Fred split up?
