Hurricane Dennis about to hit US gulf coast
For those who aren't aware, Hurricane Dennis, a class 4 hurricane, is about to hit the US gulf coast. Many of the areas in this storm's path are still trying to rebuild from the hurricanes of a few months ago. For those who live in that area and have not evacuated, hang on, good luck, and check in with us as soon as you are able.

I'm pretty sure they're not evacuating because pulling out of occupied territory is like admitted defeat...

Five major hurricanes within a year. Y'think God's trying to tell Florida something?
Seriously, though, they just keep rebuilding, and they rebuild with the same shoddy construction and materials that got blown away the last time. I would never wish harm on anyone, but I'm beginning to run out of sympathy for those who haven't yet figured out that the name "Hurricane Alley" actually means what it says. Build strong, leave, or suffer the consequences. Incidentally, all those insurance claims are driving the cost of insurance up for the rest of the nation, and in the case of multinational insurance corporations, possible the whole world...just in case you think it has nothing to do with you.

I don't mean to go off-topic Zooke, this is my last post and then I'm going to play my little game.
Best Buy has a good selection of games, but they didn't have SP2 when I checked. I think its too old for them to carry normally. But you CAN get it online.
CompUSA has perhaps double or triple the amount of games BestBuy has, and thus older games....such as SP2. Mine has two of them!

I think a lot of them may be like my husband and me. Other than our jobs and necessary errands, it just about takes an act of God to get he and I away from our home. I'm not sure I would evacuate if I thought my house could stand up to the storm. Probably get my butt blown away to Kansas, too. :p

Oh, I don't care if you go off topic. I'm easy to get along with.

I do understand how the cost of rebuilding comes out of my pocket...and may well prevent me from living the American dream...retirement in Florida, living in a mobile home with lawn gnomes, and a wide color assortment of cotton socks. These hurricanes don't hit just Florida, you know. Aside from vacation and retirement, this area is dotted with shipping ports to and from the south (we receive a significant portion of our fresh produce at these ports), as well as a fishing and shrimping area. It includes Alabama, Mississippi, Louisianna, and part of Texas. That's just in the US. Maybe all the folks in Cuba should move?
I forgot to mention the devastation to our citrus farmers and the farmers in the Mississippi river bottoms. You need to look at the area as a whole and its importance to the US economy rather than as a playground.

Leaving was just one of the options I proposed. Though I suppose I should be used to being misquoted or misconstrued here in General, it still makes me wonder if anyone ever gets past the part of a post with which they disagree.
Ports, manufacturing plants, trees and many other structures are well-designed and built to withstand strong winds. I was referring to those who seem to think that a mobile home is sufficient protection from 75-150 mile-an-hour winds and the other dangers of hurricanes. As I said, build strong or don't build.

You're right Intangelon. In reviewing your original post, I did misinterpret your intention. I hate it when someone does that to me, so I owe you an apology. I am truly sorry. :(
