The future of Rock

Rock seems to be getting itself back on track after a few "dark" years out of dominance in the main culture

I'm curious...what do people think would be a nice direction for rock music to take?

I personally think that a new center needs to come forward...since Seattle faded in '94, rock has not had a true center of life
I think something great would be if we took what is coming out today, and went back to the roots of the genre. Take influence from jazz, blues, gospel, etc.

The best thing for music in general is for more bands to promote themselves independantly through the internet, for more audiences to explore small clubs and actually look for good bands instead of accepting the manufactured groups that major studios are pushing, and for society in general to realise that music is something that is listened to, not looked at.
