Old but cool: Gamespot reviews Real Life.

I just stumbled upon this today but apparently it has been around for a while. I thought it was pretty damn funny.

Volumes have already been written about real life, the most accessible and most widely accepted massively multiplayer online role-playing game to date. Featuring believable characters, plenty of lasting appeal, and a lot of challenge and variety, real life is absolutely recommendable to those who've grown weary of all the cookie-cutter games that have tried to emulate its popularity--or to just about anyone, really.

I noticed that too, it's quite a high percentage. Maybe they're all here on NS? ;)

I think I said this last time this was posted...

Life's review is too high.
I havent seen ANY patches since its release, and I keep seeing the same damn textures over and over.
And getting a girlfriend is too damn hard. Seriously. What were they thinking when they programed this thing?

This game's been out for billions of years, and still, there are some major bugs.
Can't wait for the next patch.

Bah, there havent been any patches in the last 10,000 years. I think the new 'Humanity' addition is OK, but it could use a few improvements.
Like the fact that I get almost nightly OS crashes, its really annoying.

Isn't this game like an uber expansion on the Sims concept? When it comes out, I think it'll put a lot of people out off their miserable reality.

Life is overrated. Seriously.

I'd give it about a 7.8/10. It has some serious design flaws, the Developer or Developers, depending on your belief, is incredibly unresponsive. I've yet to meet a GM - seriously, this is a major flaw. In Everquest or something, if you get stuck in a hole and can't get out, just /gm. But I got stuck in a well last week, and I'll be damned if there wasn't a single GM on hand to get me out.

And the political and economic models are flawed and rampant with abuse and general ass-a-hole-ism.

Beyond that, though one on one PvP is unlikely due to strict punishment, no one can seem to resist a full on PvP Guild War, and considering the serious penalties associated with player death, the Dev should have worked on this a little.

And though the accounts are as far as we know completely free, the subscription time allotted is ridiculously short, and can even be terminated by other players willing to pay in game price.

All in all, I'd say it could use a few patches and eventually a sequel(I'm thinking Real Life II : The Afterlife); because though there are many flaws, it provides a rich and immersive world, the Real Life concept is sure to offer players thousands of hours of enjoyable gameplay, before the inevitable pain and mandatory subscription cancellation of course.

The thing is...when you Warez Life, the developer doesnt have to go through a bunch of copyright laws.

I find it really funny when players decide to deny the developer's existance.

"There was no developer! Have you ever SEEN the developer? No! He does not exist!"

:D

Joke post aimed at atheists. Not meaning to criticize their beliefs.

Arrrgggghhhh!!!!!! NOT THE SAME OLD DEVELOPER/NO DEVELOPER ARGUMENT!!!!!!!!

There are plenty of exploits to be certain. And enforcement of rules, depending on location, are anywhere between strict to non-existent. Why, l33t haxxors can get millions just by exploiting a bug or two. :D
