I thought it was time that I introduced myself to these wonderful forums. I admit, sometimes some of the posts make me want to kill myself because of the feeling I get that humanity is dead. Well, I guess I should tell you something about me.

I'm a moderate conservative, I have some liberal beliefs.

I live in Canada, I might run for Parliament someday still not sure.

I support the war on terrorism, the war in Iraq, and the government of the United States of America. I believe in humanitarian intervention for countries like North Korea, Sudan, and any other country where the people are suffering by the hand of their government.

I support gay marriage, equal rights, etc.

I don't have a favourte movie, I name a different movie each time someone asks me.

I have posted before, as you can tell by my post count. I have only pissed off one person I believe, and he had it coming to him.

Well......I suppose that will do.

Hi Novoga, I'm Czardas, Supreme Ruler of the Multiverse (please note new title!! formerly Supreme Ruler of the Universe), the person who really controls these forums despite all the imposters called mods (yeah, they don't really exist; they're all just my puppets). I'm a libertarian with somewhat restrictive economic policies. I'm also the local n00b crusher, Sarcazm Master, and prize awarder. I like saying hi to all the newbies on this forum.

Pure Metal here wrote an excellent guide for newbies that I criticize, edit mercilessly, and scream at all the time, and swear by. Ask him where it is.

Also check out "The One-Stop Rules Shop" in Moderation by Frisbeeteria, I presume you know who that is. You can't miss him, first mod on the left, in burgundy.

Finally, enjoy your stay here, and don't make as many mistakes as I did. I mean, look at my post count. If I'd been more sensible and economical, I'd have 10,000 posts by now! ;)

'Bye.

Hi, welcome to the General forum. There's a thread titled "who are you" that you might like to check out. It has short biographies of some of us in it.

Seriously, perhaps you could wait until he posts in a political thread to attack his beliefs? Just maybe?

Dont listen to people like the above quoted, Sosato, most NSers are fairly considerate people unless theyre debating, in which case theyre all bastards. Fact of NationStates :P

welcome to the forums, I look forward to meeting you in the arena of political debate :)

It's a pleasent surprise to see someone with beliefs from across the spectrum (supports war in Iraq, but also Gay Marrage), it seems way to many people are too pradictible in their beliefs, normally fit entirly in one camp.

Happy posting!

Welcome to the forums. In this section, you'll see the endless wanks of liberals, moving on we have the RP (role playing) forums here (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/forumdisplay.php?f=1230).

Sino is a considered to be a very conservative member of these forums. You may find him a useful ally when waging verbal combat against the liberal scum!

Nice looking uniforms though.

Yeah, the Chinese combine German, U.S. and their own styles for their uniforms. Russian uniform (and the types worn by states of the former USSR) styles trace back to the Czar. The only changes were the insignias. I suppose it's pretty traditional and archaic.
Dontgonearthere

Back when they were introduced, the Russian uniforms were actually fairly creative, if only because Russians had green uniforms and these versions were slightly darker and provided some camoflage.
Meh :P
'Course up until the Napoleonic Period they wore blue (like most of Europe :P), for the most part.

Berets and peaked caps are almost standard pieces of service uniform around the world. The beret's popularity is expanding due it's nature of being less formal than the peaked hat, but more refined than the garisson cap.

Weren't the British in Red during the Napoleonic Wars? I think the Russian uniform was grey during the Crimean War. I heard that the French marched up to the front in WWI in colonial colors.
Sino

That's a very sensible way to align them due to their height differences. Or they could try that method of having their heights in ascending order with the shortest man as marker (which only looks good when marching).

Note the 'most'.
Russia was blue until sometime just before or during the Napoleonic Wars.
France hs been blue for some time, I think they usualy used Navy Blue as opposed to the Hessian lighter colour.
And of course the Brits wore red...theyve been wearing red since 1300 :P

Reagan was so impressed with the British uniforms that he designed his own for the Secret Service to wear. The SS refused. Flat out refused an order from the president. They were pretty bad uniforms. Some high school in Ohio or something found out about it, asked for all the uniforms that were just being kept in storage, and now it's the uniform of the school marching band

I think they adopted the spikeless design during WWI, which was later improved to become the M35/42. There's a fairly detailed article about the Stalhelm on Axis History (www.axishistory.com), but pity that site is off for now.

or a dinky pointed helmet?

I tend to dislike uniforms if they're too archaic (colonial) or pompous. But Chiang Kai-shek looks cool!

Chiang was a good six-footer but Mao was slightly taller. Chiang got tired off his 'European emporer wear' after losing the Mainland, and he dressed more like a U.S. general than a noble.

Mao popularized the 'Mao jackets' but it was nothing more than a slight modification of the Sun Yat-sen suit.

My grandfather always said that no branch has a better uniform then the uniform of the Navy enlisted men. Said his air force uniform made him feel like a bus driver.

Anyway, I'm off to bed now, welcome to our new guy, it has been fun discussing uniforms.

When I saw that my Intro had reached 3 pages I figured that I was either liked, or extremely hated. I don't know if I should be happy or not that the discussion turned into a discussion about......hats.
