Why?

Why? That's the universal question. Why are we here? How are we here? What are we? Where are we going?
These are question most people have asked at one time or another. It seems all evidence points in one direction or another
But is common sense a factor? Many people declare they only believe what can be proven to them,
these are people that spend their lives watching football on TV when they're not at work, and let the media do their thinking.
As one scientist once said, "I cannot prove to you the existence of electrons, but I do however, have a TASER that could argue their existence."
And what is natural? What is supernatural? Accoarding to the scientific community the human mind is supernatural.
But of course, our own thoughts are enough to argue its existence. Of course they declare the mind as supernatural,
we've been on this planet for God knows how long, but still we know nothing. The people who think that we know everything
believe so because they in fact, know nothing. Humanity has yet to begin the journey to understand the universe around us,
and how can we begin divided as we are now? Although many on this side of the political spectrum don't care,
the entire world is in conflict right now. The Muslims who believe their religion is at risk to the Americans.
The Americans thinking their freedom is at risk to the Muslims. Why is it nobody notices the stupidity of this simplistic situation?
It's nothing smarter than the clash of two toddlers over a toy. This toy of course, is power.
Power is what makes the world turn 'round. Power is what keeps us as slaves, keeps us living in fear from the day we're born to the day we die.
Power is what keeps the politions rich, and the real people of the world poor.
We're all subliminal slaves, every one of us. Nobody knows the extend of this, but it's true.
75% of your daily thoughts are affected by the media, or by religion, or the education system,
or one of the many other things that politions use to keep power over our daily lives. There is no longer
such thing as the free thinking man. We creat new technologies and medicines, thinking that we're improving our lives,
when in reality we're just putting pressure on the trigger. How much has life improved over the past 6000 years?
Think about it, why is it we're concerned with such subjects while people 100 years ago didn't?
Is it because we've grown up into a larger world? Does growing up in a technologicaly advanced society make us somehow better
then the past generations? And what happens to us as our society becomes more and more advanced.
The way our technology is headed, we'll soon be left behind. Do we really understand the machines that run our lives?
When you turn the TV on in the morning, do you really care what makes it function?
I've been asking a lot of question, my intention was to get you riled up for my next question.
I would like you to try not to answer this with another question, and do your best to answer truthfully.
Don't let your thoughts be influenced by something somebody has told you, only apply the knowledge
you have gained with your five senses. And my question is, why?

P.S. Before all the Hitch Hiker fans leap on me, I realise this is not strictly accurate. I just wanted to get that post in before anyone else did.

Don't worry about why... that will just lead to unanswered questions or religious crap. Just explore the world in different ways with different perspectives. Yes, everything you 'see' around you is actually just your brain responding to a combination of electromagnetic waves with varying frequencies, and it can be fun to walk around knowing this, looking at things in an objective fashion. Try and imagine how the world would look beyond the limitations of your eyes, your brain and peripheral vision. Put your hand behind your head, then try and focus on your hand. What do you see instead of the hand?
Explore the idea that life is simply a freak occurrence in the universe. The whole universe is nothing but cold rock and gas, but on Earth we have life. For only a second in the lifespan of the universe, for only a attometre in the size of the universe, life exists on Earth, and only on Earth. Just a purely coincidental and random occurrence, of which you and your entire life is a result.

Why?

Cause and Effect.

When you prick them, do they not bleed? (Rhetorical) When you blow a great hole in Japan, do the Japanese not suffer losses and the rest of us lose to the ridiculous rivalry of the superpowers? (Also rhetorical)

In the last century, with huge leaps in discovery as to what we can do and arguably further empowering the human race just in time to find more ways to blow each other up in warfare, we are beginning to realise that our actions have consequences beyond the immediate. What we do as a people impacts not just those around us, but also those who might potentially interact with other subjects. It's a domino effect; if you knock one down, it takes another with it, and thus another, and another... Even those years down the line will be influenced by what we do today. Apportioning blame is no good. Ultimately, what we do leaves a profound and lasting mark on those who are affected by us.

But then, Why has several different aspects to it.

Why are things? Because things were.
Why aren't things? Because some things haven't yet been.
Why do things? Because something happened to them to cause that reaction.
Why don't things? Because some things haven't yet happened.
Why can things? Because things are or aren't, and things do or don't.

Why Am I?
I am the result of things that were. Now I can shape my outcome and create a few things that can be.
