Ugh, how to just...sleep?
It's 12:14 A.M. I'm tired. But I can't sleep.
My mind won't stop running. I keep thinking and thinking. Particulary about things that are depressing me. Really annoying.
Anyway. I want to sleep within the next 15 minutes. Now, it's probably not smart to ask the very people who are ALSO awake at this time, but I cannot care.
I think too much, as well. About a month ago, though, I got back into a regular sleep pattern (though my dad quickly crushed that).
Just stay up as long as you can, then when you feel you're about to die, get in your bed. You'll sleep like... Like... A stone. Of course, those aren't even living... Okay, I've gone and lost myself.
So go to sleep! Don't miss the opportunity! Where I am it's a good deal later and I'm still awake!!! I wonder how I can best take a shower and go to bed noiselessly! Think hard, Supreme Ruler of the Universe! *thinks*
*thinks more*
*falls asleep from overthinking*
;)

Curse you. With the brain power to take a shower with such little sleep.

Read the chapter from 1984 that I skipped over and still haven't read...because it's basically just the main character reading from a book, which explains how the government in that country works...and anyone who payed enough attention during the first part of the novel knows how the government works...
That'll put you to sleep. Especially if you've already read the book (or at least the rest of the book, like me)

Ambien, Xanax, and 100% agave Tequila always work for me.
But you may not be able to get your hands on all three in the next 15 minutes.
;) :p :D
Seriously, you might try a warm drink and then lay in bed in the dark with some quiet music.
And another thing. NS General is all that is working for me right now.
No favorite site of mine is either working or worth looking at at the moment.
EDIT: And for the last hour and half I've spent getting over a damn allergic reaction to chocolate milk. Don't ask. It involves messed up spit and a whole lot of it in my mouth.

Try my site. If you're not put to sleep, you're at least exposed to something new.
Actually...if you want a particular article to keep your mind busy, send me a tele (as I don't really want to hardcore promote my site in general forums).

The trick to going to sleep is being tired and then just laying down and not thinking...dont do anything, just lay there until you fall asleep. Once you start thinking about something then its really hard to stop and actually fall asleep.
Of course, those fancy pills will do the same thing I imagine.

Actually, if you're interested in going to sleep, go to my site, click the forums button, and try entertaing yourself with those forums. If you're not asleep in 2 minutes, I'll be truly impressed.
As for me, I took a 2 hour nap (didn't mean to wake up) about 5 hours ago..so now I'm screwed.

I finally got a lot of sleep last night (14 hours! yay!!)... But, I had the most fucked-up dream ever. I'll give you a taste of just how strange it was: I was walking around a bedroom, and for no reason whatsoever, I end up on the floor, lying on a mattress. Then, out of nowhere, Carl Weathers (the fuck?) appears on the bed above me, and hands me a bag of sleeping pills. He mumbled something, and I took the bag...
...Then, I ended up in a hallway covered in mud and plaster (with some tiling), that had a bathtub and a very large toilet.

Particularly if you are having allergy problems anyway, benadryl is a very effective sleep aid.
(Most of the non-"non-drowsy" anihistamines and decongestants also are good sleep aids. Most over-the-counter sleep medication is simply one of these.)

Actually...4, but you can't see the 4th.
That's why it'll put you to sleep so quickly. Those forums aren't very old at all though.

Look, you don't tip your drug dealer enough. I can't stress that enough.

Actually, that wasn't the most fucked-up dream I've ever had... Just the most fucked-up dream in recent memory. Oh, there are weirder parts...
Fuck it. Know what? I'm going to go piss and then I'm gonna sleep with no covers and the fan running full speed all over my body. And I'm gonna lie there and enjoy it until I get cold. Then I'm going to pull the covers on my body until I get hot. Then I'm going to pull half of them off. Then I'm going to hold a pillow in a fetal position until I fall asleep.
Seriously.
No. Seriously.

I lie in bed and think about everything being black. I focus on complete blackness, which stops me thinking about anything else, and it will send me off to sleep.

Anything like mine where I drove off a cliff and had the same scene replayed about 4 times? Fun.
Really had that dream.

To be quite honest...I just watch Fox News when I'm ready to go to sleep.
I mean, after all, the Aruba case was boring to me after it was over-reported 2 days after the fact...and they're STILL talking about it?
And for some reason...when I forget to set the sleep timer on the TV, I manage to be woken up by the TV at a convenient time...like a more pleasant version of an alarm clock.

I've had dreams where I keep getting killed... Over and over and over and over and OVER AGAIN. In different ways, though.
Shit, if everyone could have dreams like mine, the world would be a... No, screw that. These are MY dreams, you bastards!

Make sure you're not wearing any clothes. That amplifies the effect of the fan running full speed over your body... Hahahahaha.

If you really have a problem.. My remedy is exercise (jogging etc.) in the afternoon followed by a shower. Get ready for bed early and then just chill out until you're ready to sleep. If your too lazy for exercise, get yourself an infrared sauna. Thay are relatively cheap @ $3000 (good sleep is priceless). They are great for relaxation and I sleep like a rock after using mine.

OK, I took my sleep-remedies. (From my first post.)
So far still conscious. But NS is turnining into a somewhat trippy experience.
I expect many, many typos and incoherent arguments in the next little while.

I'm presently staying awake until nearly 6 am, its not good I know.
First, get off here
Second go lie in bed with the lights off
Third, breathe in, breathe out and calm yourself down if you're thinking about stressful things...
Eventually it works but you won't notice til the next morning... :)

playing music does help. I hate insomnia too. Just think of random things. Try listening to Dark Side of the Moon backwards in your head :)
EDIT: wow the last three posts have smilies at the end :)
