Which Eagles member do you think was better at guitar, Joe Walsh or Don Felder?

I say Joe Walsh, just cuz I've seen him so many more times than the Eagles... And he's good.

To me, that question is a bit like asking "which is more interesting, watching the grass grow or watching the paint dry?".

I voted for Joe Walsh because I like his half of the Hotel California solo better, and that was the two of them playing side by side over the same, so I figure it's the best way to comparison. That said, Felder is a better slide player by far.

Who played first in the Hell Freezes Over version, and the original?

Actually, Felder wrote the entire solo. And what about Bearnie Leadon? He was good.

"Whats better, bowel cancer or lung cancer?"

Joe Walsh. A few of his other records are a bit more energetic than The Eagles.
Mind you, so was Curtis Mayfield after he broke his back...

I can't tell the difference. But Dave Gilmour beats them both.

True. "New World Order" is an excellent album.

This man knows what he's talking about.

However, I'd have to say I prefer Joe Walsh, but they're both pretty damn kickass.

Felder wrote the addition to the beginning of Hell Freezes Over on his own, but he and Walsh, from what I've read, collaborated on the original.

Terrible shame what happened to him. There's quite a few musicians I'd quite like to see break their backs, but he wasn't one of them.

I'm with you!

I voted Felder. I think he's better than Walsh in technique. He plays almost perfectly. I like Walsh more for his style though. He's more laid back and still rocks. They're both great in their own way.

But Gilmour is top notch.

Quite. Sharing a stage with Ice T, way after Ice was making anything approaching decent music, and who gets a broken back? Curtis.

Proof, if proof was needed, that there is either no god, or that he has a very very perverse sense of humour.

Surely the question we should be asking here is 'Who is the better guitarist - Brian May (Queen) or Slash (Guns n Roses, prior to breakup)?'

Personally I'd go for Brian. And not just coz it's such a great name :D

Because guitarists never pick either of those two as examples of great guitarists.

That's not what Glenn Frey said.
