The eternal question for computer-users.
ATI or Nvidia?
AMD or Intel?
Third party? Meh :P
What is your choice?

Please vote for only one brand in each catagory, thank you.

For those who have no idea what IM talking about...
Radeon and Nvidia are popular brands of graphics cards for computers. AMD and Intel are popular processors.

For me, I follow the traditional Intel and ATI setup. Im happy with my 3ghz P4 and Radeon 9800 Pro 256mb. I tried an Nvidia card once, and it didnt work out too well. Its been a while though, so they may have changed, but I still prefer Radeon series.
Generaly, I find ATI cards last longer and perform better over long periods. My RAGE Pro can run most modern games, on minimum settings. And thats on my other computer with its significantly slower processor.
As to the processors, I am pretty much stuck with Intel due to AMD's overheating issues. In Arizona this actually IS an issue, considering the poor heat dispersion of my room, it gets rather hot when running my computer anyway. Its just my luck that its on the side of the house that gets sun all day every day.
And no, I cant afford better cooling equipment and I dont want to use liquid cooling methods, too expensive and (my opinion again) too risky.

Anybody else?

CPU: not too bothered, really. the Pentium M is a good chip - got it in my laptop, and the Athlon 64 is also good (in my PC), but still can't take too much advantage of the 64 bit goodness thanks to Intel not supporting the new technology yet...
interestingly, anyone else heard about the court case between AMD and Intel? the former are sueing their giant rivals over malpractice & anti-competitive behaviour (seems to happen every week up there in silicon valley  )

GPU: nvidia all the way! though this is partly only due to two things: theirs are the only cards i've ever used for no particular reason, so i keep things that way; and because i understand nvidia's naming of their chipsets & cards, but don't get ATI's
plus there's no real difference seeing how each one releases a new chip every six months that beats the other one into the dust - they just keep swapping places as to who is better

ATI's naming scheme is pretty simple, it goes up by 100 for every new card :P
If they just modify it a bit, it goes up by 25 or 50 or something.
The new X cards refer to the roman numeral for 10.
EX:
the X800 is the Radeon 10,800.
At least, thats what I think theyre doing.

And Ive heard about the court case. I think its BS though, just somebody taking a chance to dig and the competition.

lol seems simple enough i guess...

as for the court case, the Times suggested last week that ATI had plenty of evidence and a number of key wittnesses lined up - notably a number of ex CEO's of PC manafacturing firms, including hewlett packard

Ditto, I prefer them to Intel.

Definitely ATI. Their designs are nice, their drivers are extremely easy to install -- unified drivers!!! And I've never had any problem.
I tried a PowerColor card once (compatible ATI) and it was shitty, so I move away from cheap stuff.

Intel. My experience with AMD wasn't very pleasant; its cooling system jammed, for no reason, and that big brick of a CPU burnt, leaving a black spot on the motherboard. And I once installed another AMD on my mother's computer, but it was a "XP series" and wouldn't work well with Windows Me. Why making chips that are OS-specific anyway???

Oh, and one more thing. I HATE CREATIVE (a.k.a Sound Blaster)!!! I hate everything they make, but especially the webcams and cameras, which NEVER work well. Crappy drivers, buggy hardware, NO FUCKIN' SERVICE, driver update is chaotic, website ref section is badly maintained, they drop support for their products too quickly, aaaaagh.
I have a webcam that wouldn't work properly in either Windows Me (crash!), Windows 2000 (blue screen, reboots) and Windows XP (undetected half of the times, crash). Wow.
