There's a sensationalist title, to catch the eye. But it's the opinion of one player, who is very disappointed with the player's union.

The story...

(CBC) - NHL forward Sean Avery blasted the union's leadership saying it brainwashed the players and led them into a battle that yeilded little results and ended up alienating fans.

"I am furious at Bob Goodenow," Avery was quoted as saying in a story published in the Los Angeles Times Tuesday. "Bob thought he was bigger than he was. Bob brainwashed players like me."

"We burned a year for nothing," added the Los Angeles Kings forward.

"We didn't win anything. We didn't prove anything. We didn't get anything. We wasted an entire season."

Very true, but as long as people will be ready to pay 40$ and more just to assist a game, player will have the moral right to ask for there share.

Same goes for Hollywood. I can't see how some botoxed face comedian like Demi Moore could worth many million for a movie. But on the other hand, millions of people are ready to pay a 10$ movie tickets to see here perfect plastic face.

Anyway, back to the subject. It was a lost cause for the player. When most team owner lose so much money, you can't ask them to keep paying indefinably.

At least athletes do something, even if it's not of much value. They put their bodies and their health on the line. They have to stay in ridiculously good shape, sometimes to their own detriment. Remind me again what physical danger some spoiled Hollywood actor puts themselves in? Anyone claiming anorexia can suck on this notion: They do it to themselves for no really good reason. It's a disorder, not part of the job.

Most people don't do their own stunts. Kudos to the ones who do.

There was one I tells ya! I seen it one night. It was inside an oblong area all lit up. These men dressed in strange uniforms were gliding around with these sticks that they used to control a mysterious black object that seemed to move at speeds almost too fast to follow with the naked eye. They made me drink this liquid that made me feel relaxed and a little dizzy.

Quite frankly I'm glad that they managed to place a strict salary cap. Like this the Toronto Maple Leafs brass will have an excuse for not spending the top dollars for top free agents.

I wouldn't mind if ticket prices were lower...I imagine that if athletes made in the range of, oh, $100,000 a year (let's say that their travel and injury risk warrants a higher salary than the standard $30,000-$40,000 a year) then ticket prices would be far lower and more people could afford to come to more games more often. Not that it matters in some markets that sell out every game, but such markets are prevalent in college and maybe pro football and a few in hockey before the apocalypse (Detroit, Minnesota, Dallas, and the Great Satan Colorado) but these markets would sell out every night unless the ownership did some really egregious shit.

That having been said, attendance would go way up if ticket prices were lower and so were concession prices. Also, people would harbor less resentment.
