NS Theme Song?

If NS had a theme song, what would it be?
I submit "What I Am" by Edie Brickell:
I'm not aware of too many things,
I know what I know if you know what I mean.
Philosophy is the talk on a cereal box.
Religion is the smile on a dog.
I'm not aware of too many things,
I know what I know if you know what I mean.
Choke me in the shallow water
Before I get too deep.
What I am is what I am.
Are you what you are - or what?
I'm not aware of too many things,
I know what I know if you know what I mean.
Philosophy is a walk on the slippery rocks.
Religion is a light in the fog.
I'm not aware of too many things,
I know what I know if you know what I mean.
Choke me in the shallow water
Before I get too deep.
What I am is what I am.
Are you what you are - or what?
Don't let me get too deep.

Surfin' Bird by The Trashmen. Because it's just awesome and completely random, just like NS.
I Apologize by Husker Du.

This is the theme to NationStates Game.
The opening theme to NationStates Game.
Max Barry called me up and asked if I could right his theme song.
It's almost half-way finished,
How do you like it so far?

That would ruin the flow of the music, which was what made the song good, in my opinion. The lyrics were mildly amusing.

Survivor's Eye of The Tiger:
Risin' up, back on the street
Took my time, took my chances
Went the distance
Now I'm back on my feet
Just a man and his will to survive
So many times, it happens too fast
You trade your passion for glory
Don't lose your grip
On the dreams of the past
You must fight just to keep them alive
It's the eye of the tiger
It's the thrill of the fight
Risin' up to the challenge
Of our rival
And the last known survivor
Stalks his prey in the night
And his fortune must always be
Eye of the tiger
Face to face, out in the heat
Hangin' tough, stayin' hungry
They stack the odds
Still we take to the street
For the kill with the skill to survive
It's the eye of the tiger
It's the thrill of the fight
Risin' up to the challenge
Of our rival
And the last known survivor
Stalks his prey in the night
And his fortune must always be
Eye of the tiger
Risin' up straight to the top
Had the guts, got the glory
Went the distance
Now I'm not gonna stop
Just a man and his will to survive
It's the eye of the tiger
It's the thrill of the fight
Risin' up to the challenge
Of our rival
And the last known survivor
Stalks his prey in the night
And his fortune must always be
Eye of the tiger
The eye of the tiger
The eye of the tiger
The eye of the tiger
The eye of the tiger

Well, I don't know why I came here tonight
I got a feelin' that something ain't right
I'm so scared in case I fall off my chair
And I'm wonderin' how I'll get down those stairs
Clowns to left of me, jokers to the right
Here am I stuck in the middle with you
Yes, I'm stuck in the middle with you
And I'm wonderin' what it is I should do
It's so hard to keep this smile from my face
Losin' control, I'm all over the place
Clowns to left of me, jokers to the right
Here am I stuck in the middle with you
Here's the lyrics if you were wondering, revise as you see fit to suit NS.
I GOT HIGH
I was gonna clean my room until I got high
I gonna get up and find the broom but then I got high
my room is still messed up and I know why
- cause I got high [repeat 3X]
I was gonna go to class before I got high
I coulda cheated and I coulda passed but I got high
I am taking it next semester and I know why
- cause I got high [repeat 3X]
I was gonna go to work but then I got high
I just got a new promotion but I got high
now I'm selling dope and I know why
- cause I got high [repeat 3X]
I was gonna go to court before I got high
I was gonna pay my child support but then I got high
they took my whole paycheck and I know why
- cause I got high [repeat 3X]
I wasnt gonna run from the cops but I was high
I was gonna pull right over and stop but I was high
Now I am a paraplegic - because I got high [repeat 3X]
I was gonna pay my car note until I got high
I was gonna gamble on the boat but then I got high
now the tow truck is pulling away and I know why
- because I got high [repeat 3X]
I was gonna make love to you but then I got high
I was gonna eat yo p**** too but then I got high
now I'm jacking off and I know why
- cause I got high [repeat 3X]
I messed up my entire life because I got high
I lost my kids and wife because I got high
now I'm sleeping on the sidewalk and I know why
- cause I got high [repeat 3X]
I'm gonna stop singing this song because I'm high
I'm singing this whole thing wrong because I'm high
and if I dont sell one copy I know why
- cause I'm high [repeat 3X]

The NS theme song should be a tuba and a piccalo playing random notes.
Sergei Prokofiev's The Montagues and Capulets best describe the never ending left vs. right struggle all over NS. You see this struggle in those hate-filled RPs and in the endless debates in the General forum. If NS is an eternal struggle then our anthem should be that.

Ooh! Ooh! 'Pictures at an Exhibition'! Who can't love a half-hour long orchestral piece with a section named 'Ballet of the Unhatched Chickens'? And it's so very random and different. Kind of.
Ignore me.

It's not a romantic piece, you ignoramus! That piece was written in the 1920s, by the 1930s it was clear that the real Montagues and Capulets were the Nazis and Ivans. It's also a very well known piece of classical music, so I suggest you have a listen.

Random, yes. Ignorant, why? Pictures at an Exhibition is a wonderful song. Played excerpts from it in band... and it does have a part called 'Ballet of the Unhatched Chickens'. :P But nevermind, off topic...

I heard it but I can't remember. I'm not a big fan of that composer.

The cynic in me immediately answered; "Taking Retards To The Zoo" by The Dead Milkmen.
But that's a wee bit harsh. There are some very groovy people here.
So I think I have it:
It's a jazz piece from the 1920s. You might recognize it. Do me a favor, and listen a little further into it if you recognize it. It might surprise even you.
Linus And Lucy (http://www.wrpi.org/info/history/sound/linuslcy.wav) by Vince Guaraldi.
Edit: That's not the original. I'm looking for it. The original is much better. :(

"Nationstates"
By President Shrub
Nationstates is a game for Max to market his books,
Because with 7 percent commission, his publishers are crooks.
Any lower pay, and he'd have to say, "Buy my books, or I'll die."
And he may have to charge, or he might starve, which is why you need to buy.
Nationstates,
It's to prevent Max from becoming a homeless bum,
Spend your bread, or he'll be dead,
Unless his publishers will throw him a crumb.
Nationstates,
It's what Hussein does in his spare time,
Nationstates *chime*,
Don't be cheap, buying MP3s for a dime,
Help stop Max Barry from living a life of crime,
To live in a dirty mansion, filled with grime,
His wealth quickly fades, and he must pay for the maids,
Buy it, buy it, buy it, this is the end of this rhyme.

Written By Warren Zevon & Jorge Calderon
c. 1991, Zevon Music,
administered by Warner-Tamerlane Publishing corp./Googolplex Music BMI
I started as an alter boy, working at the church
Learning all my holy moves, doing some research
Which led me to a cash box, labeled "Children's Fund"
I'd leave the change, and tuck the bills inside my cummerbund
I got a part-time job at my father's carpet store
Laying tackless stripping, and housewives by the score
I loaded up their furniture, and took it to Spokane
And auctioned off every last naugahyde divan
I'm very well aquainted with the seven deadly sins
I keep a busy schedule trying to fit them in
I'm proud to be a glutton, and I don't have time for sloth
I'm greedy, and I'm angry, and I don't care who I cross
I'm Mr. Bad Example, intruder in the dirt
I like to have a good time, and I don't care who gets hurt
I'm Mr. Bad Example, take a look at me
I'll live to be a hundred, and go down in infamy
Of course I went to law school and took a law degree
And counseled all my clients to plead insanity
Then worked in hair replacement, swindling the bald
Where very few are chosen, and fewer still are called
Then on to Monte Carlo to play chemin de fer
I threw away the fortune I made transplanting hair
I put my last few francs down on a prostitute
Who took me up to her room to perform the flag salute
Whereupon I stole her passport and her wig
And headed for the airport and the midnight flight, you dig?
And fourteen hours later I was down in Adelaide
Looking through the want ads sipping Fosters in the shade
I opened up an agency somewhere down the line
To hire aboriginals to work the opal mines
But I attached their wages and took a whopping cut
And whisked away their workman's comp and pauperized the lot
I'm Mr. Bad Example, intruder in the dirt
I like to have a good time, and I don't care who gets hurt
I'm Mr. Bad Example, take a look at me
I'll live to be a hundred and go down in infamy
I bought a first class ticket on Malaysian Air
And landed in Sri Lanka none the worse for wear
I'm thinking of retiring from all my dirty deals
I'll see you in the next life, wake me up for meals
That, or "Run Straight Down"
by Warren Zevon c. 1989 Zevon Music/BMI
(4-Aminobiphenyl, hexachlorobenzene, Dimethyl sulfate, chloromethyl methylether
2, 3, 7, 8-Tetrachlorodibenzo-para-dioxin, carbon disulfide)
(Dibromochloropane, chlorinated-benzenes, 2-Nitropropane, pentachlorophenol,
Benzotrichloride, strontium chromate, 1, 2-Dibromo-3-chloropropane)
I went walking in the wasted city
Started thinking about entropy
Smelled the wind from the ruined river
Went home to watch TV
And it's worse when I try to remember
When I think about then and now
I'd rather see it on the news at eleven
Sit back, and watch it run straight down
Run straight down
Run straight down
I can see it with my eyes closed
Run straight down
We've been living in the shadows all our lives
Where it's stand in line and don't look back and don't look left and don't look
right
So we hide our eyes and wonder who'll survive
Waiting for the night...
Fluorocarbons in the ozone layer
First the water and the wildlife go
Pretty soon there's not a creature stirring
'Cept the robots at the dynamo
And it's worse when I try to remember
When I think about then and now
I'd rather see it on the news at eleven
Sit back, and watch it run straight down
Run straight down
Run straight down
I can see it with my eyes closed
Run straight down
