Most Hated Commercials - Because some are an affront to your very being

To balance the Ying & Yang nature of the universe I have created a thread to discuss your most hated of all commercials. Mine is a certain car advert (which I shall not describe because I have sworn to hunt down the actors invloved in it should I ever see it again - and I so don't want to become a murderor). Appart from that I mostly hate other car adverts...

What about you?

I submit those commercials which start with 30-60 seconds of screaming, and then say, "You may not be able to accept it, but all homes have mold." That commercial must die!!!

I hate the Andy Milonakis show commercials. But I suppose they are very accurate in the kid is a dumbass and is not funny...at all.

Or any commercial with a song that will be stuck in your head for an eternity and just when it gets out BAM there it is again. It's a conspiracy

Actually...since I've seen the show (and saw him on the Internet LONG before he was on MTV and he was crying because he wasn't on TV...), I rather appreciate the commercials. They're a very accurate reflection of the show...and remind me not to watch it.

You should have let them join in, they wouldnt have been unruly if they had a common hatred to work out. And buttonmoon, the irony is the maker of Crazy Frog is the brother of the man who made the sound - The original use was funny. The guy should be hung drawn and quartered and have his assets given to the brother he stole it from.

So true. My dad was flipping through the channels and he got to the episode where one of the "skits"(that does the word so much injustice) was he was talking to a toaster? I think I got dumber after watching that.

Those rodent puppet things seriously gave me night mares. I refuse to eat at Quiznos because of those I mean I would have a heart attack if one popped out of my sub

I have a sattalite TV and my service has those little sports packages, the most hated, is the Commercial for the 'Sunday Ticket' Imagine around 50 people, singing a variation of one of those annoying old Willy Wonka movie songs. Let's expand the scope of our rant-fest a bit, eh? RADIO... I don't have teevee, but radio has one campaign going that just...

Taco Bell.

Okay, the dog ads were kinda cute for a while. What in the name of F*** are they thinking with the talking Food???

Yanno, I know there's bribery in the health department, but I don't find the idea of something that's evolved speech and wants to ride a rollercoaster to be at all appetizing. (how long does this stuff sit on the counter, I wonder...)
The use of a high-pitch whining "Cute" voice-actor doesn't help, either. Just makes it both annoyin, and disgustin.

I'm curious to know what the women in the forum think of tampon ads. Most of them are very similar in that you see a very disgruntled woman, then someone hands her a box of tampons, she steps into a stall and a few moments later she steps out smiling and dancing like she's just fallen in love. Are tampons really that good?

I got to hand it to you all, you've just served to underscore the reasons I gave up on (most) television a long while ago.

Even when I do watch it, I sit with my finger at the ready to hit 'mute' at any given moment. I like to converse with my mate during commercial breaks, anyway. Or go pee. Or... well, just about anything other than devote any processing power to all that useless wasted time in-between show segments. So while I may in fact have seen some of those commercials, I gave them absolutely none of my attention - and in some cases, my mate and I choose to make up our own commercial dialogue. So even though I may have seen some of the stuff that's bugging you, I have no idea as to what most of you are actually referring to in your posts.

Lucky me!

But you should try it sometime, it's great fun.

WOMAN (obviusly in her thirties, but made up and dressed to appear as a young-looking woman in her mid-fifties): I was worried about our finances.

MAN (similarly made up and attired): She was afraid we'd be living in a cardboard box!

WOMAN: then I discovered cough syrup. A few bottles before breakfast, and the days just drift on by...

MAN: She was afraid we'd be living in a cardboard box!

WOMAN: Thank you, Benadryl!

MAN: Now she's so messed up, she hasn't noticed we're moving into a cardboard box!

*Fade to Black*

That's a more-or-less verbatim parody of an ad that at first we took for a financial services commercial, then possibly a coldy-remedy spot, but realized in the end had to do with real estate for seniors.

You can do the same! Just remember to hit that 'mute' button! You're all capable of being infinitely more funny than anything on that TV set. Anything at all.

Any ad related to any chat-line of any description. The worst offender is the one where some guy is screwing some girl up against the wall in a nightclub washroom cubicle. When they finish and she pulls down her skirt and he is tucking himself back into his pants, the voiceover says "Fantasies for men..." and then he kicks the toilet seat back down and the voiceover continues "...and women". When did it become okay to put that on television during prime time?

http://www.nightexchange.com/nightExchange/Washroom.wmv

All the others are just as insulting to the intelligence.

3. Avacor! If you've seen it you have to agree.
4. Those Sears commercials with Ty Pennington! Agh! They make the stupidest jokes ever, wait, scratch that, not so stupid that's laughable, just, ugh.
5. That WalMart commercial with the Gingerbread man. Someone bite off his head already!
6. Female special parts product commercials! I gave my mom a lot of awkward moments asking about those commercials when I was younger.
7. *Radio*Those condom commercials: "Here's sex with a regular condom: woof. Now here's sex with a(n) *Insert brand here* condom: Awooooooooooooooooooo!" Fuck off, okay? You don't need to advertise condoms! People are still going to have sex! All you need to do is put them in more visible places than the other brands. Or make ones with kinky flavorings. :p

That just reminded of the Genital Herpes ads.

"Now that my genital herpes is under control, I have infinite leisure time, which I spend biking, running on the beach and playing with my puppy."

OR

"I'm deprived of sex, my parter doesn't want to plow me/be plowed because I have herpes on my sexual organ. But this doctor gave me this pill to help me get some. You should use it, too!"

The Enzyte commercials wouldn't creep me out much if I had never watched Batman in the first place.

The commercials that really affronted me were the early ones by Sonic where those two jackasses had nothing better to do than go to a competing fast food joint's Drive Through window and make the tellers miserable with their stupidity. God knows if I had been working at one of those places when the shit happened I'd try to get the teller to stall them while I out the back door with a handgun loaded full of blanks.

Then...

:mp5:

"THIS ISN'T SONIC YOU FUCKHEADS!! THIS IS [NAME OF FAST FOOD JOINT]!!"

If they didn't get the message after the first load was emptied I'd probably reload more blanks just to get the point across.

No. They're pretty boring, really. However, I firmly believe that the women in tampon commercials are not members of the species Homo sapiens, but rather alien cyborgs from a distant galaxy where bodily fluids are blue, small lumps of cottony stuff are deeply thrilling), and there's nothing more fun or family-bonding than walking on the beach with your mother while discussing the importance of "freshness."

If ever there was a commercial that skirted right on the edge of outright racism - but seemed custom designed to be plausibly deniable...

of course, I believe that if it seems morally reprehensible to me, then it certainly is to someone else...
