Now, I wouldn't be doing this if it hadn't happened TWICE in the past TEN MINUTES.

Everyoen can be sitting, around more less jovially, discussing one topic or another. No one is discussing political offiliation and it isn't brought up. All of a sudden BAM out of nowhere flies a crazy hard-right wing person swinging at whatever libertarian, liberal, or otherwise mroe leftist person than themselves they can see. They fly into the topic and instead of just discussing the topic itself they manage to reply to the topic by using their mad apologist skills to excuse the actions of the Republicans and slander the Democrats simultaneously - and NO ONE has villified the Republicans. You know the Republicans are being the devil's advocate when the apologist apologize before anyone even calls out the Republicans on anything.

I know the Republican apologists will come in here shouting about how Demcorats attack Republicans more than the other way around and this topic proves it, and I know who will be one of the first to say it: Corneliu, and probably Ravenstrike because he is on and just did this. Well, I call bullshit on them. Within the last 10 minutes in topics where NO ONE attacked Republicans or even insinuated an attack on Republicans their first replies to the topic manage to attack John Kerry without reason (Corneliu) and slander the Demcorats based on an assumed policy of the Demcorats and an assumptino abotu a woman's political standing (Ravenstrike). Again, I reiterate no one had even INSINUATED that Republicans, conservatives, or otherwise right wingers had done anything bad; however, we had jumped on Texpundistan for claiming the lady should have gone vigilante instead of trusting the police, but no one implied it was because of his political beliefs.


You rightwing nuts (not all, jsut the nuts) can make topics about how teh Democrats are just as bad as or worse than the Republicans all you want, you jsut continue to prove that it is the Republican attack dogs that don't ever seem to be muzzled and like to attack while the other dog is still on a leash.

The Right already KNOW how much the left hate them while at the same time feel the need to patronise the left on everything, which is rude in my opinion.

I wish people would quit assuming Republicans are right wing, Democrats are leftwing, and leftwing is liberal and rightwing is conservative. And you just made a bigoted blanket attack condemning roughly half the board (assuming the left-right split is 50-50) for actions by one or two, while at the same time glossing over the fact that the left does the same thing.

Which is worse?

It's really only in the US that zero-sum politics is played. Please don't lump all economic right individuals with authoritarians.

Some people here are right. It seems to me like there's an equal number of "left" and "right" people that do that sort of stuff. A lot of us, the calmer ones, understand your problem, and I do hate it when people do that sort of stuff. It doesn't matter, it's all uncalled for. Just remember when you make your argument, don't paint your side as the better, because there are bad people on both sides.

No I didn't, no one understands my specifications. I said only the nutty ones, not all of them

I would consider left and right in more political than economic terms if it is seen that plainly. Then again I think I'm pretty much left of centre in both terms.

I'm thinking a lot of this can be prevented by avoiding the impulse to provide a quick reply to someone who fundamentally disagrees with you.

It's not just limited to Republican vs. Democrat. I see a lot of unnecessary anti-American and anti-Bush thrown in when it's clearly not necessary to prove a point or to further discussion. I've seen a lot of Christian vs. anti-Christian as well.

Stereotyping and generalizations are unproductive - why bother? Most of the insulting comments I've seen here could have been easily avoided by the authors.

Why all the hate for those with other political views? Why not abolish government and set up an anarchist state so this wont happen? This is why government only causes trouble - Without difference of opinion there can be no hatred.
