I played the demo, loved it. If I can scrounge up some cash, I'll buy it. I dont usually buy games, if you catch my drift, but I...

A. Love the game and the game makers. Possibly the most friendly, interactive, and helpful commercial game devs ever.

B. God damn cd protection, impossible to get through without way too much work.

It's like, I get past the two logos of the SP2 game and (Golemthingie and whatever) and then suddenly I hear a "bing" and the screen just goes white.

I have to press Ctrl+Alt+Del to get out. I have to end Joshua's Client and Renderer DLL to get back to normal.

For SP2, BF2, and for better Sims 2 game play...

Although choppiness can come from RAM or Processor issues.

Not to mention the fact that the terrorists were from Afghanistan..which may or may not be included in my coalition (they're poor...and really, not Middle Eastern) and they just terrorized the US because they're pissed at the US...

No, no, no. My Middle East coalition is smarter than that and has larger goals than that. My Middle Eastern coalition makes sure to include India and Pakistan...then sets China and the US at war...

Hmm, that'd be neat if we did get a large group from Nation States together...

I'd play either Iran or Saudi Arabia. The Nations that would be important to have other people playing as would include a handful of nations to make up the MEC (most importantly, both countries I mentioned above must be played, Iraq, Gaza/West Bank, Egypt, Pakistan). The United States, Israel, United Kingdom. The obvious major players in Europe. Russia, North Korea, China, Japan. South Korea.

Oh man...it'd be really cool...I'll see how much Wal-Mart has got it for (if they have it)...

Anyway, if we do this...

Whoa...it'd be cool if you played Iraq, and I played Iran...we'd open up an Arms market and have a full alliance and everything (despite realism) and I'd let you basically run the military for both of our states...because I find the military slightly boring/difficult.

It's funny, because the way I found out about NationStates was through the SuperPower forum.

I love Superpower2. I took Mexico, made it a power in something like 50 years. Then someone started a World War (didn't see who), waited and picked up all the pieces. Like a vulture :D

I also took Afghanistan from shithole of the world to super power in about 80 years. Took over Iran, Syria and Iraq.

I don't exactly understand how Afghanistan would take over any country...China, Pakistan, India, and Iran would all oppose an arms build up large enough to take over Iran. But I suppose once you got Iran it would be that difficult. The only reason the US opposed the spread of the USSR is because it was also spreading communism. If Afganistan stretched its borders to include Iran, Iraq, and Syria..you wouldn't be spreading anything...

That's why you make friends with the big powers first. You build up your economy, you build up your international relations, then you build up your army.

Then you wait for a world war or something and just take things here and there. By the time the others try to oppose you they are too weak and you're strong.

It usually works better if you go to the War list and join the side you want to help.

Game ended with an economic failure after pretty much every nation in the world hated my guts and almost all of Europe, Oceania, and Southeast Asia declared war on me.
Hmmm.... There may be a lesson there.

It's difficult to make alliances with countries that are still in development, because of the associated costs. Start by offering some economic partnerships and things like that.

When you play as Mexico no one wants to be your friend. But as soon as you get out of the economic slump and start moving the country forward (Mexico can become quite the power in a relatively short time) then eeeverybody wants to hang out with you.
Colodia
11-07-2005, 20:25
Yeah, apparently no nation turns down economic partnerships. Any cons to that treaty? It seems like there are only good things coming out of it.

EDIT: And when I accidently allied with Syria to defeat Isreal (ouch), all my allies except the Federated States of Micronesia withdrew their alliances. :( In diplomatic theamatic maps, pretty much the entire world was blood red.

Great. Just added you.

Haha, I militarized up Canada with about 900,000 infantry, rank 1. As well as ranks 6 and 7's in the Land, Naval, and Air category. Europe suddenly severs alliances with me. Then I try to defend Jamaica after North Korea declares war on it (:D), and I ocupate NK. Suddenly Burma attacks me. So I occupy Burma. Suddenly Thailand occupies me. So I occupy Thailand. Suddenly Russia and every southeastern countrie attacks me. ;)
