I am FINALLY back, for a while at least. For about 2 weeks my computer broke down and I couldn't find out what was wrong with the damn thing, GRR! The time alotted by the computer breakdown has enabled me to find bandmembers for my new band: The Wrath Of Khan. I hate/love technology.

Why thank you :D !

A short list of things that have broken down on me:

1. My VCR ( yes people actually still use those  )

2. My CD Player

3. My Computer

4. My fridge

Is it just me or do they REALLLY not make things how they used to? I have a Panasonic TV from 1972 and it STILL works to this day!

If you're so dependent on the electronics then I'd hate to be camping with you.

When I go camping I turn into a different person. I have military grade clothing and survival equipment just for camping. I order up boxes of MRE's just for that purpose.

Bravo! That's good to know. Too many young people these days have grown disinterested in the outdoors because off the electronic luxuries.

Quite true. I'm technologically oriented because I was raised in an environment around it, but I do love a good outdoor trip.

Last year, I was placed on a psychological exercise in high school. A group of students were to be individually isolated in a pine forest with no items of electronics, limited unprocessed food and absolutely no human contact for 48 hours. Some of them actually freaked out at the end.

I came out O.K. and actually regretted for the time being so short. I wish I had a rifle or a knife as I had donned BDUs.

Would they allow students to hunt, if they brought the necessary items? And did they leave you all unchaperoned, or what? It sounds like a rather interesting experiment, to me.

Personally, I'd not mind "getting away from it all". I used to camp alot with Boy Scouts, and wouldn't mind doing so again.

No. Hunting and weaponry were not permitted. It was meant to be an exercise of seclusion where your own thoughts are your own company. We were given a pencil and a sheet of paper to write our thoughts if we wish. Even travelling away from one's designated area (although impossible to control) was discouraged.

I was the only one who wrote the pages full. Others talked about how many times they've wanked during the debriefing. It was certainly a very contemplating time as I focussed back on my life and looked forward. I never used my voice the whole time despite others commenting that they were upset because they could shout all they want and nobody could reply.

Funny. I think I would've just slept thru the whole thing.

Anyway, here's a list of gizmos that have broken down within the last year or so.

1. Screen Card.
2. CD Drive.
3. Amplifier.
4. Other Amplifier.
5. Speakers (I thought those things couldn't stop working?!)
6. Modem.
7. Keyboard.
8. Next keyboard.
9. 3rd keyboard.
10. PS2 thingy for my mouse.
11. Fridge.
12. Does toilet's count?
13. Power drill.
14. Vacuum cleaner
15. DVD burner.
16. Tape Recorder.
17. Record player (same time as tape recorder).

It's not in any particular order. I'm not sure if I'm cursed, but 2 of the keyboards and the record & tape player & tiolet, are the only things I broke myself. The rest of the shit just stopped working for no good reason.

The computer is like a cigeratte (curse you tobacco filled cylinder) or chocolate (curse you sweet tastiness) once you start its hard to stop. *plays on computer for 24 hours* I am very much the outdoorsy type.

I used to get to do that as a kid in Hughsville, Montana (it had been a small mining town at one time, now a back-country superfund site). Man, I used to love looking up at those stars at night. It's so easy to forget how dark the night really is when you spend so much time in a city. But the drought that's eased in the first half of this year put an end to that.

About that trip I went on, I forgot to mention that not even a flashlight or cooking fires were permitted.
