In Portland, all the pot is home-grown right in the city. Peak freshness and stone, with the best tastes and lowest prices on bongs and things around. The Oregon weed most people smoke is Guerilla grown up in the Mountains, but in Portland, it's all home-grown.

I think a true moderate would be hard to find on a forum like this. First, there is the 'with us against us' attitude of the 'right in charge' that strives to make them look like the normal right and hopes to paint everything to the left of them as 'extreme.' That has muddied the center.

Next, conditions have come to the point where the fence is no longer a place anyone can really sit. The climate is forcing people to chose sides. Look at Jon Stewart-under any other circumstance he would be a moderate, a centrist. But he dares question King George so he's a crazy lefty. (Never mind that he spends almost as much time picking on the left. Not as much, but they're not in charge, there simply aren't as many opportunities.)

Lastly, a sight to debate politics is not as likely to attract moderates as it is to attract people who've got a horse in the race. Moderates will come here, but not as likely to make attention grabing posts. Rather they may poke and prod at a subject to get as much information as they can, almost allowing them to go unnoticed.

He was/is very conservative on all kinds of issues. He likes to present himself as being centrist, but when challenged or pressured he reverts to conservative traditional values. He is not a neocon, but he is definately right of centre in his actual beliefs.

This is also the mushroom that is thought to be responsible for the Norse Berserkers and everything that entails. :D

I have to put in my extreme objection to two of the people on the list.

Eutrusca - Is NOT a moderate. He flames people a lot. You might want to say he's a conservative, but there is nothing moderate about him and as for being grounded, grounded people don't get tons of warnings and 2 forum bans. So, I think he should really not be considered.

Corneliu - Not grounded at all. Seems to have a good grasp of some history, but he is often wrong and will refuse to admit it. He also flames people quite a bit. I just don't think he should be up there for the simple fact that his information is often wrong and he does flame people.

Ok, that's my $0.02.

Same names always show up on these kinds of threads, these kinds of threads are always mainly about popularity, these kinds of threads are always tiresome displays of mutual brown nosing that serve no end purpose but to bolster the egoes of the local forum demagogues. And trust me they don't need bolstering.

You are soooo wrong about that, my friend. I got to this post as I was reading the thread, and I had to respond. Let me tell you, I've lived in bothe SF and Portland (though I live in Friday Harbor WA now). Portland and SF are a lot alike in many ways, but with the biggest differance being that Portland is cheaper to live in, and has the best bars on Earth, thanks to the McMeneman brothers.

As for my votes. I haven't been around long enough to really get a sense of most of the players, but I would have to agree with the earlier mentions of Neo-Rogolia and Corneliu. The others not not so sure of.

The whole "flying reindeer" thing comes from the fact that Siberian reindeer are known to dig up and eat Fly Agaric mushrooms which have a extremely potent hallucinogenic effect (though the effect varies based on the maturity, temperature, ageing, etc, of the mushroom.) I agree on Whispering Legs. Always prepared and well informed.

As far as the left- I dont know. I cant keep track of all of them. I do agree that Cat-Tribe is both knowledgable and well prepared when he makes a statement. I dont always agree with his stance on issues, but he does come prepared, so I never dismiss him. He has enlightened me on a few issues.
Many of the rest are too hysterical for me to pay any attention to.
So yeah-Cat-Tribe for the Left.
