At this momnet I count about three threads about gays. Around two or three to do with liberal vs. Conservatives and anotehr three or so about religion.

Pretty much the theme of off-topic forums isnt it?

I agree. But ius there nothing else to debate? (I am getting especially tired of the anti or pro gay threads, making the same opposing points over and over)

If they offer something new, then fine. But otherwise its just boring.

And they can do so as long as the mods let 'em. If it annoys you, you can avoid the thread/forum altogether.

the reason why we have os many threads about gays is simple: people are either firmly against gays and gay marriage etc. or firmly for them and their marriages etc.

since there is no middle way, everyone needs to bring more and more evidence and to be heared and makes new topics for this.

i personally am firmly against it completely, but i understand those who are in favor. that does not mean that i tihnk they are right. no no no...

but i guess they're expressing their oppinions, although in most cases their justifications are inconsistent.

i think the hottest new debate this summer is about color. Does color really exist? Which color is best for which events? Will the US recognize any new colors coming from Canada?

Oddly enough, 'color' doesn't exist in Canada. Although 'colour' does.

Blue is my favorite color, but ironicly I don't like to wear the color blue. CaRaZy!!!

Pink is coming back and I for one am excited.

I would like to see a new color invented, kind of like blue and green but with a dash more flavor than teal.

The Social Democracy of, and argueably the only free country in North America, Canada, voted 158-130 FOR Same Sex marriage.

Only one primarily oil producing, conservative province, Alberta, said it may stop participating in marriage all together, as a form of silent bigotry. So even the bigots and hate mongers/discriminators still have somewhere to go.

Kudos to Canada for being the 1st in North America and 3rd in the world to practise what it preaches to be a protector of civil and human rights.

Thats why we need to start a new and excting movement. The banishing of negative smilies. From now on we shoudl only see happy positive smilies and all others shoudl be illegal or else you must be full of hate if you want to use them and being full of hate makes you a terrorist.

Yes you ahve already demonstrated that but don't you pull me down to your level. Many of us fight against those anti-sodomy laws.

I am conservative in my lifestyle, my general moderation for most things in my life and I understand that conservative is promoted by business because conservative thinking is really kinda "this far, no further" and "best to not think about that" type of mentality.

However, I am %100 Liberal in my expectations of right and wrong. Rights are rights, everyone is either %100 equal in a society, or the society is not equal. If it's not equal, then it must become equal over time. Moral obviousness comes into play.

It's obvious that voting one way is promoting equality, but if you are not voting for equality, what exactly are you voting for? Inequality? Persecution of others who MAY in time become you? It's obvious that you cannot have a society that preys on portions of itself. If you do that a certain few will prosper and a certain few will persecuted. But eventually the law catches up.

The way to get people to move against this "moral obviousness" is to lie, misinform or generally confuse people with cute sounding happy names like "The sunshine policy", made to kill off people and land for commerical development...

An example of near side by side examples is Canada and US. Canada consistently votes to protect the rights of minorities and allows its citizenry to call inquiries into the governments actions and can even shut down companies by political force.

When has anything like that happened in the last 20 years in the US?

Canada votes to tell Internet companies they MUST share their wires and lines with competitors, the US says Internet companies will have no such obligation and can also control CONTENT. So, if they have a deal with Amazon.com then you cannot see Yahoo.com from your internet provider because they don't allow you too... ... ...
PB in Canada is being given extra funding in Canada, because it is the primary channel for children... (And yes, we did see that Lesbian Episode...)
PBS in the US is being gutted by Tom Wilson, Right Winger who hired people to assess the political leanings on Bill Moyers show. NOW! and three other shows. Funding has been cut %45. 2 years they would like to remove it completely and bring forth "State Television", which is official propgranda of the US government.

Your country is under attack from within. If you are American, please try and change it. If you are from another country, prepare for them to come. Borders mean nothing to them, as Italy has shown and Iraq has shown. They are going to try and control the oil for their warmachine at all costs. We are the "Or against us" part of the world. Which makes us all "enemy combattants".
