Yes that is a beer can at the bottom of the pic. School finished early today due to exams so I was left with the whole afternoon free, a sunny 30°C afternoon at that. And a beach 20 minutes walk away. Now ask yourself - what would you do?
Yes I know I'm gloating. But I hope you can forgive this. :)

Afternoon has barely started where I'm at. It's only 1:20. So far I've eaten lunch, barely kept myself from flaming the hell out of a person who will remain nameless, and considered doing some work.
Not fair!
By the way, I think I identified your spider. It might be Nephila Pilipes, since it has the elongated body and the species is native to SW Asia. Only an amateur, so I'm not 100%.

Lucky bastard.
I had to go job hunting :(
Not much luck. Applied at a few places and found a one day job on Saturday. Suppose it is something.
Did you take that picture knowing that you would be posting it on NS later?

No, I actually took the picture to send to a mate back in NZ.
He keeps complaining about how awful his teaching job is at a Secondary school (long hours, horrible students, crappy school etc etc). Yet whenever I bring up that he should move over here and go Primary as I have done (teach half as many classes p/week and earn more than twice what I was getting back in NZ), he always dismisses it as 'Not being interested in teaching Primary'.
Logic hasn't worked, so I figure envy might. He's going to hate me, I know. hehehehehe
When I sent it off to him, I suddenly realised I could piss off more people than just one by posting it on NS as well!
To Vetalia, thanx for that. It is a Nephila Pilipes. Do you know if they are poisonous? We don't have such colourful spiders in NZ, hence my interest in it.

I took the day off work and went mountain biking - it pissed down all the way round so I got soaked/covered in mud. It was great. :D

Took a shower.
Ate 2 bagels, drank 2 espressos.
Corrected a 20 pages technical report, modified Visio diagrams.
Talked with the client.
Lost some time in the NS forums.
Killed 12 of these tiny mosquitos.
Had 1 Internet outage, which lasted 10 minutes.
Looked outside, saw the sun.

Well...its only 1.16 here so haven't done much yet. I woke up at noon, went downstairs to the kitchen, ate some oreos, went and grabbed the laptop and went onto NS. Oh and I read a flyer while eating my oreo.

I really really hate you. Finished 3 hour chemistry exam this morning, got off at wrong stop on the train, tried (and probably failed) to get a job for the summer, had a row with the bank (I already gave you that. And that. And that. - Repeat ad absurdium) had to run to catch the last post, and now the forums are being slow. :headbang:
P.S. To cap it all off, I'm going camping in the lakes next week, and there's a great big low heading straight for cumbria.

I don't know specifically if they are poisonous, but they do cause painful bites if feeling threatened (eg. walking in to their web). It's best to just be careful.

Act II popcorn. A real connaisseur.
In my neck of the woods, it is now 3:47 pm
I woke up at 1:30 pm...I'm not lazy, I just work 3rd shift. :)
I drove my mother to her dentist appointment...she would drive herself, but she's getting the loopy gas, and won't be able to drive herself home...
...but her co-worker is picking her up, because right now I am at school "studying" for my Psych test that I have in about and hour and a half.
Yeah...I should really get to work on that...

I spent £348.43 ($623.79 USD) on clothes for a holiday.
i spent the afternoon making a murder mystery for activity day so all the little kiddies can act out bludgeoning each other and using magnifying glasses.

Got to work at noon, having made an executive decision to play 'snooze-tag' with my alarm for two hours.
Didn't want to wake up, depressed, my girlfriend yesterday departed forever back to the US. So, very downinthedumps and contemplative about the nature of existence and so on. I'll allow myself a two-day ration of Jeff Buckley. No more, otherwise I'll get morbid.. (That's the problem with dating exchange students, they eventually have to leave at some point, although fair play for hanging around London a month after term finished!)
So..
Got to work in the gloomiest of moods. Got on the phones, and - given my reduced tolerance for idiocy and foolishness - spent all afternoon sighing and mumbling at secretaries up and down the land, and didn't make one fucking sale. Which may or may not mean no cigs for me this weekend.. Commission is evil.
Wished to go home from 12 to 5. At 5 went home (all hour and a half of hardcore commute from Totteridge to Peckham - ie: northernmost London to southeast London = squillions of miles..). Although it is free. For me, that is, I know the Tube like the back of my hand and I'm just a total fucking samurai with fare-dodging. Been caught couple of times, but you just give a fake name at a real address, can't touch you..
I say 'home', I actually mean my college library, for this is where my only source of (free) internet is available. Home is a 5 min busride away. Although the wait could be anything from 1 to 30 min..
There, I plan to eat. Finally.

My Brad, that's beautiful.
I spent my afternoon outdoors, too, at a company picnic. Had too many hamburgers, watched people hurt themselves in the tug-of-war and get wet in a waterballoon toss, and then it's back to work.
Hmm... I and some friends got on our horses, rode up the mountain and hiked the rest of the way. We came across a boar which I easily outran (while my friends continued up.) near the top, we encountered a large lizard that took umbrage to being disturbed, at the top, we had a small avalanche, grabbed the flag that was placed there and started our climb down.
and seeing that it was late, we stopped the D&D game and went home. :D
