A NS Marriage

Delphinum
29-06-2005, 16:16
Well I know I haven't posted on here in a while and neither has the nation of Garlands... but I just thought I'd better tell the old timers still here some big news.
Garlands and I are getting married on 7th July 2007!
The nation of Ikitiok is going to be bridesmaid and the nation of Miranda is to be best man!
This is not a hoax! LOL :D Though it does sound like one!
Garlands and I met on the North Pacific board over 2 years ago, got to know each other and met up... moved in together, bought a house, got rabbits, a dog and some fish and now we're planning the wedding! :D
Garlands already knew Miranda IRL and we met up with Ikitiok early last year and have been great friends ever since... as you could tell from Iki and Pet's Coffee Shop, many of us developed real friendships on here.
A big thank you to Max Barry... If you're anywhere near Nottingham in 2 years time, you can come to the wedding! :D
Of course, it's not just ns'ers who're involved in the wedding, it's just so weird that we have 2 people who have nations who are involved in the whole thing!
So Lord Garlands and Queen Delphinum XVIII are finally getting hitched!

Yeah, it's good to be still here. Although a lot has changed, the members for one have become far ruder....although perhaps I'm being stuffy and thinking they should all bow down to the reputation that preceeds me lol.

LMAO! Yes, minions, bow down to us old folks! :D
The reason I stopped posting mainly was the number of rude people... plus alot of my friends have left. I know some are on other forums, but the NS forum just didn't seem the same. Oh the old days! :D
Thank you Sdaeriji... I'll text her just now for you! :)

LOL I know, we didn't realise until we looked on the calendar that it was 7/7/07... I don't know whether it's a good thing or not... it's the weekend after our 4th anniversary. :)

We haven't got the venue yet, but it'll be somewhere in Nottinghamshire/Derbyshire... we hope in a country house or hotel... We're not religious, so it'd be hypocritical to get married in a church. I'm thinking Thoresby Hall would be nice... but we'll see! :D

Congratulations to both of you, this is just proof that you don't need to leave your computer to get a social life, but can do just as well by your computer. I think you're the fourth or fifth NS couple to get married :p
(that includes one guy who asked someone to marry him by posting a thread in General :s)

We'll be up in August if you fancy a few pints in a pub somewhere? ;)
We've not decided on a venue yet, but we like this place... http://www.warnerholidaysonline.co.uk/weddings_thoresby_hall.php

But we're going to go round Newstead Abbey(Lord Byron's old haunt) and a few other places this weekend to see... :D

None of you recognize me in this incarnation, but I'd like to offer my most heartfelt condolences. These threads never fail to make me feel sad that I quit 'way back on '03 before getting to meet anyone (and back then I only posted about 20 times anyway... :(). And I might add that a marriage is invariably a sad occassion. I can't offer much comment.

(I know what you're going to say...and my answer is, it's a sad occassion because it reminds me that I'm wasting all my time posting on NS and not going out to meet people. :D )
