Season Finale, Doctor Who: Fine Moments in Television.

I just finished watching the season finale of Doctor Who on CBC tonight, and I just thought I'd mention that I have never in all my life spent so much time openly weeping while watching a television program. It's been over for half an hour, and I can still feel a vestigial sniffle lurking deep in my nostrils.

I feel good, though - it was good sniffling, if there is such a thing. I haven't been entertained by a TV program like that ever before. Really. Really, it was that good. In fact, I was so impressed with the series, as a whole, that Iive decided to acquire the series on DVD as soon as it's available here.

This will probably bring to three the number of threads I've started on the new Dr. Who series, with other threads I'm also aware of. Sorry for the ad nauseam repitition, but I wanted, really wanted to know if I was way out in left field for crying through most of the show. Maybe you'd like sharing how it made you feel.

Spoilers may creep in to the discussion. Perhaps we could all monitor ourselves as much as possible - after all, there's people in Australia who haven't seen it yet! (Why am I having this mental image of just one single copy of each episode being sent through the mail from London, to Toronto, and then on to Sydney?)

Oh, and am I the only one who absolutely adores Captain Jack? He's so hot I gotta wear asbestos undergarments.

Yup. TPOTW doesn't hold a candle to the non-RTD scripted episodes.

This, however made me laugh - Glastonbury last weekend -

Heh, I loved Captain Jack.

I wasn't hugely taken by this episode, however. It seemed somwhat contrived to me - typical last-chance long-shot wish-we-could-do-it-but-we-probably-can't kind of affair. Well handled, but still a bit dreary and not what I'd hope for from Doctor Who.

Please no spoilers for the next three months, NZ has only just got the rights to screen it on Prime.

So I guess Sydney mails the single copy on to Auckland. Hope it's not all covered in scratches and coffee-stains by then. You know video techs and their coffee.

The phrase "Bad Wolf" appeared in nearly every episode (not quite sure about episode 1 though).

Such as on the TARDIS in "World War Three" and on the bomb that Captain Jack aranged to drop on the Ambulance in "The Empty Child" and "The Doctor Dances."

Maybe a Glastonbury episode was originally scheduled in :p

Anyone know a site where I can get the new Doctor Who theme? Or one with the theme for the first Doctor?
