Bush will declare war on Gay Marriage and invade Canada.

Darn. Insurgency in Vancouver, carpet bombing of Toronto, and a no-fly zone over Quebec.

The article isn't correct; they seem to count only those countries where "gay marriage", using that particular word, was recently introduced. Same-sex unions are found in other countries, the difference being that they are called "civil unions".

I don't think that you should change the definitions of words by law. Marriage is between a man and a woman, and while there may be civil unions, they are not marriages, no matter what the law would say. It's basically Newspeak.

Congrats on having the courage to do the right thing.

Courage? How is it courage when the majority of people in your nation support it? Not belittling it, just saying, it would be brave for a representative from Mississippi to propose something like this in the US House, but not in Canada. And it is already legal in seven provinces, I believe.

Anyone want to bet the Fudamentalists call for a boycott?

Hey, I’m a fundi and I support what they did. Removing the government from religion is a very good thing.

Well, maybe it's wrong wherever it is you're from, but right here in my country, it's completely and utterly 100% right! Whoo-hoo!

Go lust!

Ok, good point. Still, good for them.

I'm very happy my country still has its own mind and is still dedicated to end discrimination.

Well done.

Although I wish the margin in which it passed was a little larger :D

It doesn't matter what he says or thinks! It's happened, "ed", past tense. IT's here! Isn't that greatGay marriage in Canada...and now, hey now come to think of it, Gay marriage in North America is real.

Who cares what anyone says now?

BTW, American border agents still don't recognize canadian gay marriage. I know a guy who declared to be married (which WAS the truth, since he was married in Ontario and had his certificate with him). Well, the took him for interrogation because they said he was a "smart ass" and "had lied to them". He was denied access to the US.

The American government has already declared in 2003 that they wouldn't recognize any canadian gay marriage certificate, civil status, or passport entry.

There might be a little diplomatic war in the coming weeks.

Well, it's a legal question. And though it may rankle many in the US, the branch of the US government will eventually have to deal with the reality of non-US citizens who are homosexuals who are married couples. Simple as that.

man-woman relationships can be quite lustful, and man-man/woman-woman relationships can be and are as or more loving and deep than opposite sex ones.

Besides, it's legal in Canada now, so you lose! nener nener nener! :p

Lets see if the Supreme Court can get to rule on it...

the SCOTUS does get to interpret the laws ^^ and if they veiw that they must accept all Canadian marriage liscences as legal...

Especially if the legal status is printed in the Canadian passport. You can't get more official than that.
