Well I have some friends who are "Emo Kids", if that counts, which I do like to remind about my low opinion of the Emo music genre and the fact that all music is emotional. But at least your not Chavs.

Rainer Maria, juste like *very bad* coffee, keep me awake for the whole night if I need to work late. But the effect on my stomach is sometimes unbearable; I might develop ulcers. Especially when the guy sings (sings???)

Ugh. Same here. She's one of the most popular girls in school, but she's always whining about how she's so depressed. I've actually been diagnosed with depression, so I should know that whatever shallow, one dimensional reason she has to be sobbing isn't good enough to count as a mental disorder.

Yeah emo is actually a really good genre of music and alot of my friends are "emo" its just another style...like wearing all black and listening to heavy metal was goth and was in style the last couple years now its wearing tight jeans, black and punkish music and its emo....

When people ask what emo is I explain its a style of dress/genre of music and the genre of music I sum up as Country & Punk combined because its punk music but its all about whining about your girlfriend breaking up with you...just like country is all about your wife leaving you...and of course sexy tractors :)

Actually, my house cost about 600k and i dont own an ipod, but i dont think material possesions are are really that important and are the least of my worrys. they have nothing to do with my 'emoness'. I have better reasons to be unhappy.

Screamo is hardly a new sub-genre - it is mentioned on Usenet as far back as May 2001, and I certainly remember the term being kicked around a good five years prior to that. Of course, its meaning has changed somewhat over time.

Alot of traditional emo bands screamed, the term 'sceamo' has been around for about eight years, By the time it was coined alot of the older bands that screamed had broken-up, so people thought screamy emo bands were something totally new.

Screamo tends to be more chaotic then older emo with screamed vocals, or then 'hardcore emo', which is pretty much the same as 'early 90' San Diego hardcore'. It has more mellow parts then 'emoviolence', but the terms can be interchangable. Newer 'screamo' tends to have more of mellow parts, and sometimes is mixed with metalcore. Newer screamo generally tends to suck. ;)
