If anyone missed teh Cynthia Tucker editorial or the case, I will sum it up.

The case: Scrushy was head of Healthsouth, it went south fast and Scrushy gets his ass hauled in on the usual CEO pilfer and blame everyone else bullshit.

Tucker: She points out that once Scrushy was charge d he started going to more predominately black churches, donating to black causes, and jsut generally associating with black people, even hired a black attorney.

Instead of JUST pleading innocence and blaming people lower on the chain, he plays the race card. Not the white race card, oh no, but the BLACK RACE CARD. The man starts playing teh game like he is a blackman being beaten by some white police. And guess what HE GETS OFF. The jury holds him unaccountable for everything, obviously because Scrushy managed to convince him he was one with the black man. Peter Griffin would be proud.

Is the race card so powerful a WHITE business could play it and GET OFF on it? This country needs to get its shit together and reexamine itself and get educated. We need to stop bulshitting around with hot button issues and focus on more pertinent shit, among it apparently is the general education of the nation and racism.

I'm so going to try that next time I get arrested. I'll have a bunch of my black friends accompany me to court and hire a black lawyer. Preferably one who sounds like he's preaching when he talks.
