What if the Ripper was a sailor?

One of the army of slueths found in 1889, 6 prostitutes were carved up ripper style in Nicaragua and another spree in Germany in 1891.

Copy cats or was it the ripper?

Its possible. A lot of evidence points to the ripper being an educated man.
Violence against prostitutes is/was so common, it makes it harder to investigate possibilities.

An idle question: suppose that modern police and forensic skills were available at the time of the ripper. Suppose he left no fingerprints or DNA evidence. Would they have caught him?
