Well, I learned quite a few things 'bout Pennsylvania.

1) Washington, PA, is officially the shittiest town in America. Don't go there. And certainly, don't drive through there twice, just to avoid traffic on I-70.

2) Hell > Pennsylvania turnpike. $14 to drive on a fucking road? You must be out of your mind. Driving through mountains sucks, and people don't know how to drive. YOU CAN'T GO 65 IN THE LEFT LANE, MORONS. Seriously, I'd rather take a few to the groin than drive across 76 again.

3) Camden really isn't all that bad when you consider the 400 miles of shitty driving it took to get there.

4) HOW MANY SUNOCO'S DO YOU NEED? I mean, seriously. One every 30 or so miles, each complete with a Roy Roger's, or a Burger king. Damn you, sunoco.

5) The Appalachians are pretty. ;)

You don't have to drive the turnpike. You can take the free roads.

All of that stuff is there so that you don't have to exit the turnpike to refuel or have lunch.

I like the Ohio-Penn. border. At first, you are traveling the nice, smooth Ohio road and then BAM! you hit PA and it turns to quasi-gravel. Same goes with the Maryland-Penn. border. Good old PDOT, same quality as usual. :)

Taking the free roads would've costed about another 2 or so hours, which is about =$14 worth of gas.

I know that, there's just an abundance of them.

Yes, but Scranton, PA, is probably uglier (even its name stinks).

You go to Scranton if you like rain and clouds.
