Well, there are lots of Americans here so I was wondering if any of you are into reggaeton?

I am getting into it but it is hard to get reggaeton over here in the UK. Anyone know any good reggaeton sites etc?

It's really big down where I just moved from (south Texas). Dunno any sites, though. Just do a Big Brother...er...Google search for "reggaeton". :D

Also, I dunno what the big deal about it is. Reggaeton is nothing more than Jamaican Dancehall with Spanish vocals. Exact same music. *shrugs*

Use a good P2P program, perhaps?

In California, I can't escape it. Some of it's good, others just make you wonder "wtf?"

I like Limewire, personally.

I like Reggaeton but I'm Canadian. We mix a lot of Reggaeton with Hip-Hop in my dance class.

I haven't heard much of it, but what I have heard I've enjoyed.

My god, I thought maybe moving to the states would mean I'd hear the last of Reggaeton, but I was wrong. The music has been popular in Puerto Rico for ages. For as long as I can remember, literally. I vaguely remember lines from a certain few old reggaeton songs from my youth. After all this time, I realized how much I hated the music and was glad to finally come back to the US - but now, it's breaking into this market.

My question is, where is the appeal to the music? Near identical recycled drum beat, similar bass lines, and (in personal subjective opinion) generally aggravating vocal styling. I'd assume not everyone thinks the vocals are annoying, but why do you like this style? Honest question, folks. As an avid music fan, I've heard some strange music in my time, but I honestly consider Reggaeton to be some of the worst music I've ever heard. To answer your question, I *have* listened to Aqua, so I know what I'm talking about. :p

I know the music is danceable and conducive to the greatest dance any man has ever seen, El Perreo. You know... Watching the women get down in the club perreando almost makes me reconsider my dislike for the music. Heh.

So... Why do you like Reggaeton?

Well, I'm a huge fan of dancehall. Where I live there is a very large and influential Jamaican community (and it's part of my family too) and so I can have as much dancehall as I want. Reggaeton is very slowly breaking into the music scene in London, I mean Kiss have just started playing Daddy Yankee -Gasolina.

It seems to popular, although people do moan about the fact that it's in Spanish. And, there are a number of differences between dancehall and reggaeton. Language is one for starters.
