China's Olympic slogan revealed

CHINA has announced "One World, One Dream" as the official slogan for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, local media reported.

Li Changchun, a ranking member of the Communist Party, made the announcement at an elaborate show in Beijing, according to the sina.com website.

China has spent six months searching for a slogan that would suit the world's most important sports event.

In late December the Beijing Organizing Committee kicked off the search for the slogan, urging people to think up a catchy phrase that would be easy to remember in both English and Chinese.

"New Beijing, Great Olympics" was the slogan Beijing used during its successful bid for the 2008 Games.

Well, what do you think? Are we in for a show or what?

Wow, a typically non-specific yet inspiring slogan which doesn't tell us anything.

You can't tell anything from the slogan, but considering the authority of the Chinese government I think we can be assured that they will get things done. Unlike in Greece where they were scrambling to finish, the Chinese will have very nice facilities done in plenty of time.

It is going to be an amazing spectacle. THe amount of building in Bei Jing and Qing Dao (where the water sports will be I think) is phenominal and the major stadiums seem incredible from the plans. I remember reading a magazine with the design of the swimming stadium in it. It called it the "Water cube" and it was going to have photosomethingorother stuff on the outside to make it look like water.
