Not another hypothetical war thread...

Yes, another hypothetical war thread. This time, let's try multiple countries versus each other. Ok, on one side, there's China, Iran and India. On the other, there's the U.S.A., the U.K. and Russia. Who would win and how would this effect the world in the 21st century?
US, UK, Russia. We have more technology and more developed economies. The Chinese military is backward and couldn't use their numbers effectively since there would likely be uprisings against the government. The "Western" nations also have air superiority/naval superiority. We could encourage Pakistan to attack India, while Russia supports them via Afghanistan. Population is no match for superior firepower.

Well since all but Iran are supposed to bow to the UN there would probably be quite a stand-off. :sniper:
And then the US would get trigger happy :mp5: :mp5: :mp5: :mp5: :mp5: :mp5: :mp5: :mp5: x several thousand and start invading France and shooting its own allies. Need I continue?
It seems reasonable that without any extra budge (ie. another country dropping a nuclear weapon on the U.S. with a Russian bomber, etc) then it would be a stand off till it got sorted out. If a country were however to invade the U.S. or Russia, then there'd be quite fiasco. Although, the usage of a nuclear weapon would be doubtful.
Unless of course, that leader was feeling suicidal :)
And were's the "other" option in this poll?

Well, It'd probably be team UK, but i'd want Team China to win. So go them.

Let's just say the Myrth option is other.

Given that all 3 members of "Team UK" have effectively joined forces in the past (WWII) I think they'd have a head start right off. Plus If you gave English Engineers and Russian Scientists US Budgets and Know-How, the combination would produce frighteningly effective (non-nuclear) war machines the likes of which each nation, independently, couldn't produce. Since it would be a long drwan out war (5 or 6 years, minimum) this kind of thing would definitely tip the scales.
It would be a close battle, given the tenacity of the Chinese and Iranians and the ingenuity and perseverance of India. So long as full co-operation existed between the 3 of them, they'd give Team UK a really tough fight. Iran in particular would bring the fight to the home soil of the US, UK and Russia. 9/11 would pale in comparison to the efforts they'd embark upon in such an all out war.
The outcome would be that Team UK would win the war and loose the peace, while everyone else in the world would unite in an effort to enforce total disarmament in all six countries invovled in the conflict.

I completly agree.

there's no contest there. all the best hardware are on the russia/uk/US side. it'll be more interesting if russia were with the chinese or watsoever, but as it is the best military on the other side is china. And no, I don't think china has poor military, on the contrary I think its quite respectable. But against 3 powerful well developed nations with good tech? come on!
Assuming that China and India would actually ally in the first place (doubtful, given they've fought many wars just in the past 50 years, let alone earlier in history), it would be a massive standoff. But I'd suspect that the India/China/Iran alliance would splinter under the pressure, the whole thing about being neither historical nor logical allies.

IMHO, such a scenario is quite unrealistic. China and India would never side with each other.

No, but imagine if they did. They both have over a billion citizens, so if they started compulsory military service, for even 3% of the population, their armies would be huge.

And, of course, useless - how the hell are they even going to get sixty million rifles, sets of BDU, training for them, etc? And most importantly - where would we get enough berets for them? They'd have to go into battle without berets, which would really be a bummer for those Chinese female soldiers who have red uniforms - they'd feel underdressed...
