Are there any "liberal Republicans" left, besides Ron Paul? I consider myself a liberal and I wish that there were any liberal Republicans who still valued the ideals of a free market and a limited government. I am thinking about joining the Republican Liberty Caucus to help bring in more like-minded politicians.

Those liberal republicans are a conservative lot.

I like what Ron Paul says and how he votes. But would it be more accurate to call him a "constitutional libertarian" than a liberal republican?

Liberal Republicans shouldn't even be called that. They should be called "true Republicans", since those representing the party today are nothing but pork-barrel spending, big government, lobbyist appeasing disgraces.

Free market economics and a small government would do more to help our country than any kind of stimulus package ever would.

Not to digress, but there's a reasonable attempt at identifying the various Republican factions and their positions here:

Some may be surprised that not all republicans are Bushites. Neither did all Republicans vote for Bush.
