I dont know, but I dont like it.

What I mean is that... it just doesn't make any sense.

These guys are supposed to hate each other.

What next? London giving shelter to IRA operatives?

More than a few, its Al-Quida with important leaders and 2 of Osama Bin Ladens sons. The worst part is, if there is a war I could get drafted.

Well if they're under house arrest, I doubt they can do much.

Why does that not surprise me?

Kinda like Madrid sheltering ETA terrorists.

ETA is an organization of Basque separatists.

If you want to talk about their real hide out, you should turn your attention a little bit west to Saudi Arabia.

Yeah, there IS a reason Bush put Iran on the Axis of Evil list.

Yeah, there IS a reason Bush put Iran on the Axis of Evil list.

Because he needed a third state for it to be an axis. Duh.

Given the extreme vagueness of the source (anonymous US intelligence officers have little credibility with me nowadays), I would say the odds are extremely poor that the people listed are there.

Not to mention the poor relationship these people have with Iran.

I am still wondering why it was called an "axis". I mean, 2 of these countries don't even talk to each other. And the three of them don't even share a common religion/ideology/language/history/goal. We're very far from the other historical axis (Germany-Italy-Japan, or Germany-Ottomans, ...)

I'd call it the "Odds and ends of evil". Sounds good.

The only proved case of a terrorist harbored by Iran was Gulbuddin Hekmatyar, one of Afghanistan's most detested warlords. And of course, a Shia fundamentalist.

He was on house arrest most of the times, having only minimal power, and waiting for the perfect moment to return to his country. This moment never actually happened.

So no, I don't really believe Iran has anything to gain in helping rabid Sunni extremist who happen to spit on Shia when they meet one.

This is just another poor excuse for a reason to 'free' Iran.

Well, if it does eventually become an invasion of Iran issue, I can see how it goes now:

GW: Give us these terrorists
Iran: We don't have them
GW: Don't lie to me! I know you have them
Iran: Look, we've checked all over the place. Your intelligence must have been wrong
GW: What! Our intelligence can't be wrong. You're definitely hiding something. *invades*

2 years later

GW: Hmmm, alright, i've flattened your cities, ruined your economy and killed a large chunk of your population. I uhh...guess their not here. Well...uhm...WE CAME TO LIBERATE IRAN. Yeah. Thats it.
Iran: *insurgency*
GW: Ingrates! After all the terror and war we've given you. I know! The bad boys must be in NK. Lets go there.
