I still haven's seen Star Wars episode 3.

I'd like to see the new Batman. It looks very, very good. Close to the original paper serie all in black & white (but mostly black).

And there is a good canadian comedy at the cinema right now, "C.R.A.Z.Y".

Otherwise Bewitched doesn't interest me much. And Herbie... well... I'd like to re-watch the original movies. :)

Anyway, good movies coming out? Er, I haven't been to the movies in a while, not sure what's coming out...War of the Worlds does look good, and the Narnia movie looks like it might be good, the books were good enough...I do want to head out the theaters and see the batman movie, that looks cool

Not really interested in War of the Worlds, I have to say.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, though--I'm ready for that one. Same with The Fantastic Four and the Brothers Grimm.

Let me add one to that list--Corpse Bride, the new Tim Burton animated film.

Brothers Grimm is a biggy for me.

War of the Worlds I feel obligated to watch more than anything else.

I am hesitant about Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I've disliked more Burton films than I've liked.

Land of the Dead intrigues me because it's a 'later on' zombie movie, an 'after the first wave' where survivors now deal with a world of zombies. That is intriguing. It could also be 'Escape from LA,' so...

Wallace and Gromit: Curse of the Wererabbit is a MUST see for me.

I have to admit that The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe does look pretty cool. The cartoon freaked me out a little as a kid, never read the books.

I can't think of anything else right now.

I disagree. It may have aged a bit and the special effects may be a bit, umm, dated, but the story is still terrific. I'm afraid of what Spielberg is going to do to this, especially after he completely fucked up the end of A.I. And am I alone in this, or have you just had enough of Tom Effing Cruise?

Movies? You mean, thingies that they put on in theaters for people to watch? I've heard of them, but I never realized they existed. I've always thought they were just a legend, a tale made up to beguile little children. ;) Wow, you learn something new every day!

(Yes, I am that ignorant of pop culture. :()

Any recommendations? PG-13 or below preferred. I'm not yet old enough to get into an R.

Me and You and Everyone We Know looks very good.

I'm curious about War of the Worlds even though I'm not a Tom Cruise fan.

The comic geek in me can't resist the pull of a hopefully decent rendering of The Fantastic Four.

Narnia and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire are my picks for this year.

I did go to see Herbie, though I wasnt particularly interested in it. It isnt bad, but it certainly isnt good either. Its basically a racing movie with the old girl doing a man's job cliche except in this case the car alone did most of the work, which makes the whole 'girls can do anything a man can do' thing kind of unproven. There wasnt enough comedy in the movie for it to be Herbie, it ended up being just a racing movie.

Not Doom.

Agreed.

I might see Narnia, if all of the following happen 1)It stays true to the books, for the most part, 2) my friends give it good reviews, 3) Someone else pays (I'll just go with the family), since I don't invest my money into movies unless I'm sure I'll like it. I'm well know for hating all kids movies and the like, and Narnia would likely be PG at best.

I really want to see Land of the Dead and War of the Worlds, especially if I can do it at the Drafthouse (Think restraunt + movie theatre, google it for more info).

Why the hell did they put Tom Cruise in War of the Worlds? Now it's going to be crap. This new Batman movie looks pretty bad. Michael Keaton's not in it. I haven't seen Gone with the Wind yet. I'm looking forward to that.

Fair few, like the look of war of the worlds, havent had a chance to see Batman, have to do that. Unleashed in August.
Unleashed the Jet Li movie? Weird. I would have though it would already have been released. Saw that, better than it might have been. The story is a little on the wildly improbable side (as you must already know) but they come unexpectedly close to pulling it off. I'd say the fight choreography is top notch, and for a change, so is the fight cinematography. If you're a Jet Li fan, I'd catagorize it as a must see.

What to say about War of the Worlds. Especially after Minority Report I'm hesitent about Speilberg films. There was this Anime movie Lensmen, which I barrowed from an aquaintence. He warned me, "It's pretty sweet, but after the green beam, and you'll know what I mean, just turn it off. Be glad for what you saw, imagine a suitably kick ass ending and leave it at that." Well, he was right. Speilberg movies are getting like that. There's all this good stuff, sure there are a couple of tiny early warning signs, but then there's this moment that has a simple description, and after that it he just takes a big crap on it. He knows you're not getting your money back from the box office, but he wants you to walk out.

I'm big on ghost/haunted house stories so Dark Water, Skeleton Key are on my list.

As it stands Fantastic Four and The Dukes of Hazaard appear to be the unfortunate result of a good effort, and an unholy abomination respectively.

Howl's Moving Castle was sweet.
Brothers (foreign) is supposed to be badass.
Other than that
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
and The Wedding Crashers.

I was going to say war of the worlds but now I am not so sure.

I saw some comments on TV that are suggesting it may be a bomber. Cruise just doesn't pull of what he was supposed to do.

The fact that they are not showing previews to anybody unless you sign a contract that you will not say anything about it.

The previews are only before the show opens.

The guy said that is a really big sign they are scared it's going to tank. Especially for the studios as Speilburg and Cruises fee is 35% of the take.

Due to the vagries of living in Australia, we don't get Sin City until August. Anyway, that, Narnia and X-men 3 get my vote. I know nothing's been said about it, but apparently it'll have Gambit in it.

Maybe Fantastic Four, cause the Thing looks pretty cool. Though I don't like the fact they've made Mr Fantastic so young.

War of the Worlds looks awful, due to the girl in it. The previews just kept showing her looking happy with Cruise, being all lovely and suburban Americana. then her looking scared, then really scared, then crying, then scared and crying then...well you get the idea. And Cruise running around shouting 'I'll save you!' 'Let me through! I have to save my daughter!' 'I don't care! I have to go back for her' 'I'm coming for you!' 'I'm....well you get the idea.
I can't help but think that it's not the good twin Spielberg who ave us 'Jaws' or the first half of 'Saving Private Ryan' or 'Indiana Jones' or 'Empire of the Sun' or all but the ending of 'A.I.' but the evil twin Spielberg who gave us 'Hook' and the second half of 'Ryan' and the ending of 'A.I.'.
I hope I'm wrong. But I'm not looking forward to seeing it. Probably get a copy in China and if it's good then go to watch it on the big screen.

To Farlinn: Shame you don't get Sin City til August. It's worth the wait though. Awesome movie. Seen it twice.
