Car-pimping in the vein of "Pimp my Ride" just seems to me to be a very American concept. Spending thousands and thousands of dollars on entirely unnecessary components for our cars. Seems like American-style waste and excess.

I've been aware of Westwood for years... I don't get why Radio 1 still have him employed as their number 1 rap DJ when he's such a nonce.

Therefore they make less money.

So they pay less tax.

I had the misfortume of meeting Tim Westwood when I was hanging out in studios with a friend who was doing a guest spot on One In The Jungle. (long time ago)

To sum up my opinion of Westwood after a having had a 10 minute conversation with the guy: He thinks his shit doesn't stink, but his farts give him away. He didn't like it when my friend (the guest DJ) called him a Whigger, though Navigator couldn't help cracking up when heard heard that :) Timmy boy was only just on his way up @ Radio One back then, I imagine he's even more insufferable now.

I like Pimp My Ride (American version). My own ride needs no pimping (its a vintage Italian sportscar) but I can really appreciate what they do for peoples rides and the incredible boost it gives them. The whole point is one of extravagance and excess, and its great to see average people getting to experience that kind of thing. The problem in the UK is that the whole thing smacks of Chavs and their sordid world, rather than the weirdly glamorous world of Gangsta and Rappers over here in NA.

Besides, the difference between a clapped out old Vauxhal and pimped out old Vauxhall is purely humorous, rather than anything else..
