Have You Called Some One Hitler Lately?

I mean really? This is no joke! Seems a lot of "Hitler" name calling is going on these days. If you want to make yourself look like a complete fool, all you have to do is call someone Hitler! It appears to be in real vogue these days. I think Jon Stewart sums it up best. And no, it's not just going on, on one side of the isle, it's going on EVERY WHERE!

People listen up! If you need to call someone Hitler to make your point, perhaps your point should be kept to yourself. I for one am getting pretty sick of it. I see it all around me!

Here, watch this video, no load time, (well not really) and I think this makes the point nicely.

Think before you invoke Hitler, cause when you do, you really look stupid!

So no takers huh? That's funny, because if I had a dollar for every time I've seen Hitler's name invoked on this site, I could buy the site!

Over here in Canada, I have never heard anyone call someone Hitler. Maybe its because I have never been in the right place in the right time, or maybe its because we are too busy calling people Italian Mobsters. I don't know. But what I do know is we don't call people Hitler, because if you do, you will be jumped by the Italian Mob. I don't know why, thats just the way it is...

Note: If in Toronto, you will not be jumped by the Italian Mob, but by the Scarborough Kids. You Torontonians know what I mean...

I've thrown the name around on these forums, yes. But that doesn't mean I've referred to anyone as Hitler, or ascribed any of Hitler's defects or values to anyone on these forums. I'm getting the feeling that there are those who would like everyone to act as though Hitler never existed.

Tough-o.

why can't people stick to real insults like "your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries". that's far more offensive than being called hitler, even if he was a sober vegetarian, which does scare me.

Absolutely! I don't like Bush, I won't mince words when it comes to him and what I think of him, but he's NOT Hitler. In fact very few people in the last century even come close to Hitler. I may not agree with Dubya, but he's no Hitler. As Jon Stewart said, "You know who is Hitler? HITLER!" and I agree.

Just a related note...I would not advise people to call anyone Hitler on these forums, as it could be construed as flaming and start a forum fire, and we do not want that. :)

I most certainly have, however, pointed out similarities between his government, and ours.

There are indeed, similarities.

WHy do people always think of the BAD qualities of Hitler in these references?

What about Hitler's positive side? For instance, it says a lot that he was a one-testicled crossdressing failed artist ex-convict and yet became the leader of Germany and almost conquered Europe.

Imagine what he could've done with the OTHER ball!

Hitler had his good sides.

...like the left. His left side was good.

...okay, fine. He didn't have any good sides.

Actually, I'll give him credit: He pulled Germany out of a worse depression than the US was having.

Mind you, I would never vote or support someone with a very similar platform to Hitler's, but I'll give him credit for that.

Hitler was very very good to his German Shepard, Blondie.

It reminds me of a comic strip I saw once.
"Hagar the Horrible".

Hagar and his Viking buddies return from yet another trip, likely having murdered, raped and pillaged who-knows-where..and when he gets back, his dog is waiting for him, eagerly awaitng his beloved master.

It goes to show you that no matter how much of an asshole you are, if you are good to your dog, he will always love you.
