No Parrots killed in a series of car bombings in Baghdad over a 12-hour span.

No Parrots were among the 15 humans killed Thursday when three car bombs exploded within 15 minutes of each other. The blasts followed Wednesday night's violence in Iraq's capital. At least 23 humans died when four separate car bombs went off in the western part of Baghdad.

Human officials said the blasts injured at least 56 bipeds, but luckily, no parrots appear to have come to harm.

5-year-old Australian Cockatoo saves family from fire

Australian police are recommending a bravery award for a five-year-old cockatoo who alerted the rest of his family that their house was on fire at Tahmoor, southwest of Sydney.

Chickadee call conveys degree of threat from predators

The warning call of a chickadee packs more information than previously thought, say human scientists who found the songbirds can communicate what type of predator is lurking.

Human scientists knew the birds' calls were complex. Now human researchers say the calls of the chickadees are some of the most sophisticated in the animal world. Except of course for Parrots.

Stupid humans.

Norway to build seed bank for key global crops

An agricultural seed bank will be built to safeguard against the threat of planet epidemics, climate change damage or total destruction from war or natural disasters, Norway's human government says.

Key global food supplies could be protected in case of disaster by collecting plant seeds now and storing them at a depot on a remote Arctic island, the country's human Foreign Minister announced Thursday. No word on whether millet will be among the seeds stored at the bank, although officials have confirmed that cracked corn will be amongst the first samples to be preserved.

A representative of the Norwegian Blue Parrot Society commented, "Who's a pretty boy, then?", but refused to elaborate. The seed bank is scheduled to open next year on Svalbard Island, about 480 kilometres north of Norway's mainland.

Parrots more negative about Bald Eagles, new survey suggests

WASHINGTON (CP) - Parrots are becoming even more negative about the American Bald Eagle, viewing them as "rude, greedy and violent," suggests a survey released Thursday by the Pew Research Center.

And while a majority of Parrots agreed Bald Eagles are inventive and hardworking, less than half called them honest, said the poll. But the survey, conducted among nearly 17,000 avians this spring in the United States and 15 other countries, suggested Bald Eagles remain "broadly disliked" in 10 of them and regard for Eagles is going down, said Pew director Andrew Kohut.

"The magnitude of the American Bald Eagle's image problem is such that even popular Eagle policies have done little to repair it," said the report.

The aviaries surveyed included ones in the U.S., Spain, Germany, Netherlands, France, Pakistan, Britain, Canada, Lebanon, Turkey, Indonesia, India, Jordan, China, Poland and Russia.

As a proud owner (although anybody who has them knows that this word has little relevance) of parrots I find your parody articles very humorous. Especially that last one.

I too am owned by parrots. I have just returned from my morning's worship, adoration and maintenance of my parrot overlords. Now that they have their water and Parrot Chow, I have once again become a nameless piece of ambulatory furniture, and am free to post on General.

I am owned by a parrot, too. I used to prefer human news, but now I rely solely on 'Parrot-Match'.

(Of course I had to learn French to get the weather forecast, but hey if it's good enough for my Ring-Neck Mistress CoCo, it's good enough for me).

While being held hostage by the parrot population, I learned the joys of parrot news. I will never go back to the human news, 'cause all they talk about is "Which country will America bomb next"
