Right to Life

This topic is to replace the one where i mistakenly used the word 'sacred', which threw the whole topic out of whack.

What i am trying to determine is where each of you draws the line between which life forms are okay to kill and which are not.

For the sake of argument, we will assume that one has the right to protect themselves from imminent, immediate danger of being killed themselves, and that should not figure into your answer.

So, in other words, which forms of life can you kill without moral compunction?

Are you asking what I personally believe, or what I believe we can legislate?

Multiple choice would've been nice.

.... The wording still confuses me :p "without moral justification"? Well, i'd have to go with the last option. If I felt compelled to do so, and could escape legal implications, I would kill any lifeform from humans downwards. Why would I feel the need to justify myself to any kind of "morality" system if I did not want to?

Only viruses can be killed without moral reservation. I didn't choose the "microbes, fungus, bacteria" option because some fungus can actually have medicinal purposes, that moldy bread you threw out could of made some nice penicillin.

viruses are not alive therefore they can't be killed

just a small point which i thought i'd share ;)

yeah, multiple choice would be good.
it isn't easy though - as Ximia pointed out, some fungus is good. So are some bacteria.

and if you aren't gonna kill plants then you're gonna be very hungry :D
