Which punctuation mark are you?

(poll coming).

I'm obviously a semicolon. Why? Because nobody is 100% sure where I belong, but they all look for opportunities to have me around. :)

Some would say that I am more of a question mark as I am always asking "Why?". I believe I am an "&" kinda person. There's always more to every statement that I feel the need to present. BTW, what do you call the little ~ mark and how do you get it above a letter on an US keyboard?

Question mark. Might be because I feel rather depressed right now, but I usually ask the world questions it never answered.

I much prefer two at once.

Like this.."!?"

I like to generate an aura of chaos.

Like if being annoyed by someone..start following them around singing Air Supply songs at them.

It's called a tilde. Use the character map. ñ

Speak random song lyrics for no reason. Or better yet, pick something that begins as if it's in context with the conversation. Just speak them in a completely normal tone of voice until people realize what you're doing. People hate the fact that it amuses them. :)

I mark a flow of consciousness. Also, I am frequently over-, wrongly- and otherwise abused by idiots. :p

Finally, I can mark an ominous silence that could be interpreted in any which way depending on the situation.

I expected some crappy online quiz, but it's much better to make it up yourself! :)

I am an Exclamation Point! I can't do things by halves. I have only a two-speed transmission: Full Stop or Full Speed Ahead. I'm especially dangerous when newly in Love. Then I'm Full Speed Ahead, Pedal To The Metal, Turbocharged, Rocket Powered and with a lot NOS coursing through my veins. Immovable objects run away in fear. You don't want to be around when I crash.

WARNING: I AM newly in Love even as I speak. Houston, we have lift off!

I am, of course, the apostrophe. Not the superscript sign ( ' ) used to indicate the omission of a letter or letters from a word, the possessive case, or the plurals of numbers, letters, and abbreviations; but rather the direct address of an absent or imaginary person or of a personified abstraction, especially as a digression in the course of a speech or composition.

Although sometimes I am confused with the chevron ... ^.

I'd be a parenthesis, because parentheses always "hide" information. (I do, too. Usually in white print. ;))

A close runner-up is the semicolon ; because of its position in the wink smilie, ;), my favorite and most often-used.

from the poll...

() brackets or parenthesis because while I spout secondary information, it is quite useful at times...

However, my preferred option wasn't in the poll.

... ellipses are more like me. The dots of silence as I refuse to make a decision.

Exclamation point, because if someone says something dumb in a debate, I keep drilling them about that sentence for a really long time, totally ignoring everything else they said (wow, exactly like a politician.) However, it is a close second with the question mark, but not because I make others wonder, but because all of my friends either talk in french, which i cannot speak (note my motto, "Je ne speak french") or they talk in really big words that my intellectuality cannot understand.
