A really simple concept. Marine arrives at base, everyone gets raped by demons, marine is left alone. He tries to find a way out. Blood and carnage.

The problem is that they have made a completely unrelated movie, which will inevitably suck even more than most cheap half-arsed movies.

I think that all Hollywood directors need explosive devices implanted in their brains, or, better yet, their spleens (so as to create a long, painful death) that go off if they attempt to make a rip off of a book, movie, or video game and dont at least change the title.

This movie will suck. I could only accept the BS virus if it was a side plot that explained the zombies. but you still need hell for the cool demons like the CYBERDEMON.

Ashmoria, you always have some sensible advice when someone needs it but doesn't ask for it. Or even know they need it.

Christ on a cracker. The least they could do is change the title, and claim it's another zombie movie, instead of a mutilation of Doom. Yeah, Doom didn't really have much in the way of a plot, but at least it stuck with what it had. This manages to deviate away from a marginal plot, and steal from another video game.

Hey yo, I liked 'Troopers, it's a grade A pastiche of fascist culture.

The violence is MEANT to be meaningless, it's just part of demonstrating the idiocy of everything the society stands for.

I bet you that the character of Karl got all the 'good bits' as you call them, all those treatise on social theory, all those lectures on how to manipulate people.

The character of 'Rico' got told none of that, he is the common man crushed under the jackboot of those who are supposed to ensure his welfare.

Verhoven (The director) is well known for this kind of irony, it really bugs me when people critisize 'Troopers simply because it took another perspective on the possible ramifications of what Heinlain proposed.


Oh yeah, what they've done to the DOOM storyline really blows goats, that one needs daemons, marines wearing bright green, John Carmack's head on a spike and HELL in all it's pink slimy glory.
