In all the bitching, whining, complaining, finger-pointing, sarcasm, discussing, debating, cursing, modding, flaming, trolling etc. etc. on NS, we talk about how to make the world a better place, if you think about it on the long-stretch.

Well, here's a question I have to ask you.

How have YOU made the world a better place?

I actually taught a kid to read (very annoying process) and I saved a kid from choking (very slimey process).

I'm a theatre major at my high school (it's an arts school), and though in recent years I've become disillusioned with acting and the annoying flamboyancy of my classmates (and I haven't been in a legit school play since my freshman year), I sometimes like to take on little projects. Well, my teacher got an e-mail from a local elementary school that was putting on the musical "Annie". They wanted high school level volunteers to help these fifth graders to sing and act. Needless to say I volunteered and had an awesome time...I mean, it was a blast teaching these kids. They really grew on you. After the show (there were two; one was an encore performance) the little dudes gave me a card that they all had signed. I still have it (I think)...one of the highlights of my short and pathetic existence.

I didn't punch anybody in the face last week. And then, at five different occassions this month I was seen publicly not throwing coffee in the face of idiots who can't figure out the basics of counting and giving correct change.
Hey, for me, that is pretty damn happy-nice-feel-goody.

Every year I volunteer as Santa Claus for a local charity that helps hospitalized children and their families. They have a Christmas party with entertainment and distribute gifts. I usually am the Santa visiting the bed ridden.

I saved this one girls ass from drowning after she slipped up on a wet log, hit her head, and fell unconcious into a creek. Had to drag her out, and Ididn't know CPR so I shook her a bit and she woke up...

I recently beat the piss out of this guy that was harassing my girlfriend, by harassing I mean making those slimebag comments on screwing the night away and stuff. Trust me, teaching him his place did that world a favor...

I've donated to this charity group that helps build homes and educate families and orphans in Africa...

Helped my mom out when her Great Aunt died...

Stuck up for my youngest brother on numerous occassions.

And that's all, enough to earn a place somewhere good right? Unless you count that's all I've done in 16 years...
