WASHINGTON – The ultra-violent, U.S.-trained elite, Mexican paramilitary commandos known as the "Zetas," responsible for hundreds of murders along the border this year, have expanded their enforcement efforts on behalf of a drug cartel by setting up trafficking routes in six U.S. states.

A U.S. Justice Department memo says the U.S.-trained units have recently moved operations into Houston, San Antonio and the states of California, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Georgia and Florida. They have been operating in Dallas for at least two years, according to the feds.

There are widespread reports of the commandos making cross-border runs into U.S. territory in military-style vehicles, armed with automatic weapons.

This is why the Minute Men project is important to Americans who live along the boarder. Its not an issue of racism. Its an issue of protection the government is not properly giving its citizens from foriegn threats.

No kidding--worldnet has all the credibility of the crackhead conspiracy theorist I used to give change to in my neighborhood.

Well, I was stationed in San Diego and had to pull border duty in Shore Patrol bringing drunk sailors and Marines back from Tiajuana. One time there was a firefight in the hills above the Tiajuana/San Yisedro border. We had to backup the Border Patrol and local PD against some pretty well armed runners. The shooting lasted about half an hour before the area was finally secured. That was in 97 so I wouldnt be suprised if they have expanded and and gotten a little more organised.

If this is true then doesn't it indicate a fundamental lack of Homeland security...

And if that's the case then America is certainly not "safer", which begs the question: "What has Bush really been doing?"

The international terrorist/criminal underworld have many many links with each other. If Al-Qaeda really wanted to bomb the states again, then they could just pay these Zetas to smuggle them into Texas...

Unless of course the Zetas are in the employ of the Feds, who have signed the deal with the devil (crime is much easier to control if there is a single criminl monopoly - you can tax (accept gifts) them as well).

I would like to see a bunch of Minutemen go up against a group of these commandos. I have no doubt as to who would come out on top.
Having lived in San Diego myself, and havign travelled throughout Baja, I cannot blame anyone that wants to escape across that border and live in the U.S. It is really, really crappy down there. Plus, as someone once posted here, I am not ready to pay $8 for an apple.
