Anyone else ever heard of these folks?

Here's a question. Which of the two logos the IAO has had do you trust more?

Me, I don't really trust them no matter how un-totalitarian they make their logos.

From the mission statement... "imagine, develop, apply, integrate, demonstrate and transition information technologies, components and prototype, closed-loop, information systems that will counter asymmetric threats by achieving total information awareness" ... to their slogan.. "scientia est potentia (knowledge is power)"... its just plain creepy.

After Congress passed legislation halting the IAO's activities pending a Congressional report on them in Feb 2003, they changed their name two months later to "Terrorist Information Awareness."

That's right, we DID want "total" information, now just "terrorists" have to worry. Whew!
