If it had just been a water gun, it wouldn't have had the connotations this gag did, and you probably wouldn't have found it quite as amusing. When i first viewed the video, i didn't think of anything sexually explicit. and then i saw the still on the link he posted. The video wasn't funny, cos it's like WTF!?!??! but Tom did handle it well in treating the guy like the 5 year old he acts like. But the still was hilarious. So what if it had gay tendencies? That part of it wasn't intentional. From what i could tell, the intention was to see the squirt gun concealed as a mike, and when Tom was squirted, to see where the water came from and be all like "hey man, that was cool, they had a squirt gun as a mike and squirted Tom Cruise with it."

That's an immature way to look at it. He was working the red carpet. At times that can mean nothing but answering the same 10 damn questions for 2+ hours. Imagine what that is like, now imagine if someone decides to squirt water in your face.. just because.

Even Punk'd doesn't do it when people are working. I'm not a fan of his but he handled that amazingly.. can't say I could have come anywhere near that. Water or not you have to put it into perspective and not dismiss it so easily.
