Someone told me they've done this, but I don't know how to do it. I particularly don't want to be surprised with another g0atze on a forum like I was about 3 minutes ago. So I think I'm supposed to find a place that lets me block all images with goatse in the title...

As to your question, I've never heard of such. If you got Adblock, and used it to use Goatse as a wildcard, it'd not display the image, I think. There may be an extension called ImageBlock I'm confusing this particular function with.

the only image blocking I know of with firefox is where you block all images from certain web addresses. thats in the tools section, under options, then web features.

It's a pretty damn good website that has plenty of pages worth of Firefox extensions. I don't remember if there's an extension for image specifics, but while you browse you'll come across more than a few noteworthy additions. I believe they're all comp safe and spyware/adware/virus/worm-free so don't worry.

Also? If you have the "Firefox as prevented the installation of an additional plug-in" schpeal at the top, just click the "Options" tab next to it and allow the site under the list it will pop up.

Have fun and hope that helps some, even if not for the original intent.

Ads are images. AdBlock works by blocking elements in the picture's name/URL. So an adblock filter containing "*goatse.jpg*" would block any picture called "goatse.jpg". There are howtos around for how to set up a good filter...
