Which next generation console are you most likely to purchase? The new ones set to come out in 2006 are PS3, Nintendo Revolution, and Infinium's Phantom. The Xbox 360 is set to come out this fall.

PS3, fo sho. It's (objectively) the most powerful machine out of the three big players, plus it's also got more games I enjoy. Though the new Nintendo system is sounding pretty cool as well...I plan to bully my boyfriend into buying it, so I can have both systems :).

some people might not consider the Phantom as a console, being as it only plays downloaded PC games. I say it is because it's a box i can put under my tv.

I didn't either, and since I copy and pasted a mispelled name, I got a bunch of stories about how they where a no show at E3 this year and just asked for an extra $11.5 million to finish, and people calling it Vaporware...but I have to admit that I don't know what that means. My guess is that it is either that it only plays on-demand content or that it's technology that won't really exist. I like the former idea actually, but suspect that even if thats not what it means the latter will be the truth.
Of course, that is based on skimming two articles. One of which I believe refered to the other. So take that as you will. (like, I could be completely off base)

Although I'm giving my beloved Sony the benefit of a doubt.
360 and Revolution will be mine. I don't know about PS3, though. I've gotten rid of every playstation I've ever owned, but maybe Sony will convince me to buy another.

They all look soooo goood, but I have to go with PS3. Why? My favorite tie-breaker, of course: Japanese RPG's! Sure, the Nintendo has some, but they are seriously lagging behind. I've always been a loyal Nintendo fan, but the Gamecube was a dissapointment. the Xbox360 looks shweet, if only because it has XboxLive(and FFXI Online).
It's going to be a tough choice...
But since I didn't buy a PS2, if I buy the PS3 I'll finally be able to catch up on what I'm missing.
PS3... definitly... it starts off with a HUGE library (PS1 and PS2 games can be played on it) thus I don't have to give up my library of games... my PS2 can join the shelf with my PSX and be used for 'emergencies'

If Nintendo rumors hold true and their going to make it easy for people to write and distribute their own games for the system, that'll be tempting. You just know that there will be a couple of games that blow minds and potentially found new genres we can't even conceive. But other than that 360, all the way. Addicted to hard drives now.

On the note of Japanese RPGs, one of the creators of the Final Fantasy games has actually switched over, and is making exclusive Xbox 360 games... including RPGs... more than likely Japanese styled RPGs. Also, other developers from Japan are hopping over to Xbox land...
So...
