Well, I wouldn't call them oppressive, but if you're looking for a mod who is fast on the draw, just watch Frisbeteeria.
I really couldn't care less who's succeeding him. I'm just pleasantly surprised that he retired.

Judging from what I've read, it seems that the job of Moderator is akin to political office here in the US -- those who want the job should never be allowed to have it, and those who should have the job are smart enough to not want it.
